First of all, not a very friendly welcome-to-Microtel, no smiling face and only a simple “yes”. No AC on in the hallways, so they are very hot and stuffy. The knobs on the AC in the room are broken so you can’t even adjust the temperature. No lamps, only recessed lighting. Horrendous mirrors on the whole wall where the beds are ! The sink in the bathroom didn’t want to drain properly, it took a few minutes. No iron in the closet, so I hope you don’t need pressed shirts or pants. Definitely needs updating. Overall the room is pretty clean, but the smell is a bit overwhelming that I had to buy a can of Lysol to try and neutralize it. I didn’t see any roaches or bugs or anything, so that’s a plus. No hair left in the shower. The sheets seemed to be freshly laundered. No actual breakfast room, only 6 or 8 little tables in the lobby area at the receptionist desk where you sit for breakfast. I guess you get what you pay for, but for $50-$60 a night I’m sure there are other options in the area that are much better.

The room I payed $70 for is worth $25 TOPS. The room feels like a prison cell. There is virtually nothing in it besides a bed and a TV that appears to be super glued to a sloped surface above the "closet". The shower doesn't even have a small soap dish or anywhere whatsoever to place the soap or shampoo. On the floor it goes then! The shower is also lacking a divider to the rest of the bathroom so water just splashes all over the floor even when the curtain is closed. Half of the towels were still damp from the wash when I arrived. The staff are by no means friendly or inviting. They just want to get your money and say bye bye. The strangest thing if all... The bathroom floor is so cold that its physically painful to step on for even a brief second. I've had the heat running for hours and it's still a frozen wasteland in there. I have to put on shoes just to walk in there. Please just go stay at the Ramada Plaza Hotel a few minutes down the road. Those people are insanely polite a welcoming and the rooms are cozy and clean. Also it's right in the center of all the food and shopping in town. This place is on the edge of a residential community.

My fiance and I checked in at 4 p.m. At 9:00 p.m we were laying in bed watching a movie when we got a knock on the door. It was the front desk accusing us of smoking in our room. He jumped around, made a scene, said 2 people checked out because of the smell. He said we would be charged a fee. 20 minutes later another man came to the door and told us we had to leave. It was quite the show. He pretended to be on the phone with the police. Even gave descriptions of our clothing. Until the phone rang while it was up to his ear. This was a blatant attempt at taking our money. We were NOT smoking in the room. The only thing that happened was me dancing on the bed in front of the mirror and accidently hitting the test button on the smoke alarm. We were also not the only people on the floor. We had the option of choosing smoking or non. I have never seen or heard of such horrific treatment of paying customers and what they did was illegal. DO NOT GO HERE.

The rooms are very clean & decent size. There's a nice window seat with nice views. The staff is very nice, considerate & professional. The continental breakfast was very good. This is my second time staying at this location & I will definitely return.

My husband & I can honestly say we won’t be back. We stayed at the Microtel inn & Suites in Hagerstown MD The customer care that they have here is ridiculous. When we asked for extra towels the man replied you must turn in the towels you already have to get new ones. So we can’t have one each for that night before bed & the following morning? Wow. Okay so fine we will use the same towel whatever, but then following morning comes we asked for a late checkout? Most all hotels offer at least an extra hour if asked.... nope 10$ an hour extra! Wow!!! So fine we pay that we’re not gonna argue, we pay for 2 extra hours thinking we’d be about that long. Well needless to say we only needed an extra hour which was going to cost 10$ Not even (45 minutes) we go to get a refund for the hour that we already paid for & winded up not needing to stay & he refused our entire refund!!! He said only 5.60$ back bc the rest is taxes & it was to complicated to give that back. Are you serious!!!!! Lol okay enough is enough!!! So we try talking about the matter & he treats us like we’re some young dumb college high school kids or something. Really man? This is your profession in your suit & tie! Smh I’ll never be back. We did talk to corporate & when we asked the guy RAJ whom was working front desk for a confirmation number he didn’t want to give it up & starts asking what’s wrong? What’s wrong? No sir, no thanks I tried speaking with you earlier. Now we’re on the phone with corporate you want to fix the problem. Never again!!!! Clean yes, customer service Hell NO!
