Horrible!!! Requested smoke free and most assuredly was not. Was told they went smoke free about 2 months prior so residual smells... another guest said MD went smoke free in public places 2 years ago. Someone came to spray to take away smell but didn't work. Door latch did not work so needed to use secondary chain to keep door locked. Access door off back of motel didn't work so security was compromised. And sheets and towels had stains... not the cleanest of rooms. Management was lacking.

Rooms were clean and owner and employees were beyond welcoming. Woke up a little late and they held off putting up breakfast so we would have a chance to eat. Close to several restaurants and rooms were some of the more affordable for the area. Would stay here again.

Not impressed with this establishment or how it is run. Came because of fair rates and having no power at home for 2 days with a repair date 2 days out. Booked one night and had a fast check-in with Sierra. That was the first and last positive interaction between staff and myself. My boyfriend and I slowly discovered many problems in the room. The toilet was clogged (given a plunger but not asked if we needed help), ripped shower curtain liner, dirty tub/bathroom, 3 burn holes in comforter, 2 light bulbs missing, broken coffee maker, and to top it off the window was broken with no lock.
Because of the rates and still no power at home, we decided to stay 1 additional night. I was told the room we were in was booked for the next night. Went onto the Expedia website and booked a king suite just as the one we were currently in. Called down to the front desk to inquire about getting into our new room. We were told we could have our same room but pay an early check-in fee. Magically our same room became available?!
Asked if we could have a late check-out and was told no. Pressed the lobby attendant to contact her manager as I was confused since the website clearly said late check-out available. I was then told our room was yet again booked for the next day and needed to be cleaned for a VIP member who always requests this room. Why would a hotel put a VIP in a sub-standard room? This comment made us feel like the next customer was more important to please than us. We paid for a room because of necessity, home being out of power. When I told staff this there was no sympathy. She included that the website does indeed say they offer a late check-out but the amount of time is not specified. All the manager was willing to spare was 30 minutes.

We had reserved our room stating very clearly that we were travelling overnight with an infant that we would get there the Saturday at 5 am in the morning. We were told this was no problem with an extra fee for an early check-in. When we got there it was 4:45 Am, we were served by Dylan who refused to let us in. The person who wrote the reservation in their computer never booked the early check-in so he said he wasn't allowed to let us in. He refused to call a manager or the owner; leaving us stranded in the middle of nowhere with a 7 month old baby after a 9 hour drive. I couldn't even use a washroom. We had to make another booking to a place that would accept us right away, which was the super 8 in Frederick. Just to rest for a few hours and shower, we had to pay for a whole extra day to have a place from 6 am with an 11 am checkout . We were never able to get any kind of apology from a manager or the owner, they never took responsibility for their mistake, no discount because I had to pay for another hotel room 20 mins further because of their mistake. Since we couldn't get a refund for our nights booked there we stayed for Saturday and Sunday night ( may 12th and 13th 2018) on the Saturday water started pouring down from the ceiling fan in the bathroom and on Sunday our bathtub was completely blocked and wouldn't drain for hours. ( room 112) . I will call the head office to make an official complaint because of everything that happened to us, we will see if I get any kind of compensation, save yourself the trouble book your stay somewhere else.

Nice staff. Quiet place. Like the short ride to Mountain Gate restaurant. I would stay here again.
