Motel 6 Cedar Rapids - Airport

It wasn't the Motel 6 I thought it was....turns out there are two within a block of each other. This one was fairly nice, with internal hallways for room access. Lots of parking. Furnishings worn but clean. Room was small but adequate for our 3 night stay. The king bed was comfortable, and the requested fridge and microwave worked well. The air conditioner needs help, though. Good thing the weather was cool. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I was a guest here for a couple of week while in transition to a new home. my overall experience with the staff was great from front desk, housekeeping and maintenance. they were all very friendly and helpful. I did have a few issues from the key cards constantly not working, to power outages and towels as rough as sandpaper.there were several men that did not have rooms there and things being stolen. I had a very expensive ($200.00)Cuisinart coffee maker taken and a webcam. My stay ended when the manager came to discuss me moving rooms due to a broken heat?ac unit. she (Monica) came in to discuss and made a very rude comment that was not appropriate for the head of the staff there. She looked at my room that was filled with the boxes of things I had left for my move and said' This room is disgusting, I don't know how you can live like this! I want you out by 11 tomorrow." I bit my tongue as best I could. I did not choose to live like I was I was moving and the boxes were neatly organized as had been requested.Her comment was rude and inappropriate. I ended up spending nearly $60.00 in cab fare to move to another motel where the staff is friendly. the keys work, the power stays on and the towels are like soft clouds. I have worked in customer service for many years with corporate AT&T and would never have been allowed to be so rude to a paying customer. because of her attitude and comments I would not advise anyone to stay there and be disrespected as I was. I not only paid for my 2 weeks there but lost my coffee maker and spent money I should not have had to spend.

It's pretty relaxing! Including clean, very polite guest attendants at the front desk and morning housekeeping. Asking if there's anything else the could do if needed? They are very clean decent rooms and sizes also no problems on anything in the room not working it was great! Very quiet kinda motel good territory for fast food and convenient stores in range

I stayed at this property for about 15 days because I was between homes. At first everybody was nice and friendly but once you stay for too long they find a reason to put you out. I was staying there with my kids and everything started with them the front desk called me one morning and said my daughters were putting a rock in the back door to keep it open, I don't know if they did it or not but everybody there did that so they wouldn't have to walk all the way to the front. I got that straightened out with the front desk, but yet they came with something else the next day. The next day the manager(Monica) came up too our room and said the housekeeper told her that our towels and bathroom floor was soaked in dog urine, and spoke to me with an attitude and was very rude she said to me "that is not very adult like to let your dogs destroy my property, how can you live like that". First of all I don't really want to put my business out there but the towels did have urine on them but they were not soaked, it came from me I was shot and my bladder is destroyed and I had an accident, it wasn't on purpose and I apologized, secondly the floor was not soaked in urine we had one small dog that didn't go in the bathroom and I cleaned the bathroom as a matter of fact I cleaned the whole room. Apparently Monica was also rude to other guests as well because we stay in touch with some people we met there, one family moved out the day after we left because Monica rudely told them they were coming out of there room too much and another couple left because he said while he was gone they walked in on his half naked sleeping girlfriend and when he said something about it Monica cussed him out and told them to leave. Monica needs to be fired she should not be treating paying guests like that. As long as you are paying it shouldn't matter how long that person stays. Monica is making your company lose money because they are still going to pay but they are taking their business somewhere else.

Overall good experience. Bathroom light went out, pillows were real flat and had to ask for more. AC worked great. All in all not bad at all.
