The appointment was fine, but I ordered a new pair of lenses and was told it will take 2 weeks about 6 weeks ago. I sent an email through the portal to cancel the order about a month after ordering because now I'll be out of town. I never heard back even though it says "responses will take 2-3 business days". I still have not heard back.
I came here to update my expired contact lens prescription and had a very odd experience. This is much more of a sales operation than an eye doctor. You have to go through the back room / employee lounge to get to the bathroom, which is the only place to wash your hands and take out / put in your contacts. After a very quick examination, they just renewed my current prescription. When I went to check out, I was given the hard sale on buying contacts through them. When I said that wasn’t what I was there for, the woman helping me seemed very angry. After I left, I realized the doctor didn’t sign the prescription I was given. I wouldn’t recommend for an annual visit.
I did not have a good experience at this eye doctor. They only have one bathroom and you have to walk through a bunch of employees’ stuff to get there. The tech who took my eye pressure was not friendly at all and gave no instruction. The actual eye doctor was lovely. However, she gave me spray hand sanitizer so I could put my contacts back in since they don’t have a sink in the office. In what world is hand sanitizer sufficient to cleaning your hands well enough to then stick your finger in your eye? Finally, the doctor performed retinal imaging without asking me if this is something I wanted. When it was time to pay she said my exam was $10 and the retinal imaging was $44. I told them I never asked for retinal imaging and they said the doctor requires it. She requires an exam that’s 4x the cost of the exam itself?! I will never go back.
I visited my eye Dr. For my annual eye exam at the Pennsylvania Ave. and I was so lucky to be helped by Gabriela as my eyeglass person. Gabriela helped me tremendously with choosing the perfect pair of eye glasses for me. Gabriela took her time and was very patient with me as I took an hour or so. She helped me find my favorite pair of glasses I ever had so far. She is very kind, patient and understanding of your needs. I can tell Gabriela loves what she does, she puts a smile in your face as she knows that glasses are not just glasses but are part of your identity. Thank you sooo much Gabriela! I will be seeing you soon again.
Arrived 7-8 minutes late for my appointment and was told the doctor would not see me as they had already packed up the office the office is open for another hour beyond my appointment time. The clerk said I would need to reschedule since they have a strict 10 minute grace period for appointments. I politely reminded the clerk that I had been in the office for a moment or so before they announced me to the doctor, so I was there within the grace period. The clerk said I could speak with the office manager but the doctor had already packed up for the day and would not see me. Very disappointing. Will find another eye doctor.
I’ve been going to this location since 2018.I have a large head that makes glasses shopping a pain for me. If they are cute they usually are too small, and if they fit they are ugly. Manny really takes his time to find frames that not only fit and are cute but also in my budget. I would come here even if i had to pay for my glasses entirely out of pocket. The other associates are just as helpful but I would be lying if i didn’t say Manny if the main reason why i patronize this location !
I have not had a great experience with this eye doctor unfortunately. I went to get an exam for contact lenses and glasses for the first time in October of 2022. I was offered a trial pair of contacts & went ahead and placed an order with w beans they recommended. The trial pair I was given was at first expired and the second pair that was given to me was NOT my current prescription but that I should be “fine”. I refused & decided to wait. After using the trail lenses for a couple of weeks I have had trouble adjusting and my eyes were red and irritated. I wanted to see about getting a different brand. When I called to see about this they said I needed to schedule a new appointment for an exam. It is now December of 2022 , I come in for a new appointment even though I expressed which beans I prefer only for the doctor to never put in my trail order pair. I ended up ordering glasses bc at this point I cannot see. It is now Jan. 16th 2023 and I still have no contacts , the doctor forgot to put the order in. I would NOT recommend here & honestly would like my money back for the contacts I paid for that are unopened!
From the time I stepped into this MyEyeDr location, the welcome was inviting. The customer service was outstanding from each staff member Gabby, DeVaughn, Dr. Gholston, and last but not least, Kevin. This location will be my forever eye care provider. You guys Rock!
Terrible customer service. One of the staff members was rude to me on the phone and interrupted me while I was speaking. They repeatedly did not fill my contact lens trial order and did not provide a reason nor apologize. Overall, not a welcoming, friendly environment.

After using the lenses for 2 months I have had trouble adjusting and wanted to see about getting a different brand. When I called to see about this they said I needed to schedule a new appointment for an exam and they would call me back. They never called me back so I made an appointment online. Then they called and said my appointment was not with an eye doctor and I would need to reschedule so I did. Then they called and said my insurance would not cover the new exam or the new lenses in the 6 month time frame if I did want to switch to a different brand. They were not very understanding of the situation nor helpful. Will not be returning to this eye doctor and will not be recommending to anyone in the future.
