People are usually wary of dealerships - especially RV dealerships. I'm glad to say that I had no reason for such wariness when I recently purchased a Class-C RV from Greg at Outlet Recreation. I have noticed that most of the negative reviews here seem to be generally related to things not working or breaking. Well, anyone who has done much research on these kinds of things must know that really... this is to be expected. You can't expect the dealership to fix everything that goes wrong with it for years (or even months) to come. That being said, they did offer a 30-day warranty on the RV that I purchased, and I took advantage of that. I found a bunch of little things and a couple of bigger things that I wanted them to look at for me. They went above and beyond what I would have expected - like REPLACING a wobbly table rather than just kind of jimmy-rigging it, and giving me a NEW house battery that was kind of borderline, for example. My advice is this: Buy from Outlet Recreation (especially Greg, but I'm sure they're all good). Then USE EVERYTHING, then use it again. Go over every square inch of your rig and then use it a third time. If you find something that bothers you, my experience is that if you bring it to Tim and/or Shawn and they'll make it right for you and you'll leave happy. We all know that nobody can please everyone all of the time, and that's why you're always going to see some negative reviews. But if you do your research and then go over your rig with a fine toothed comb, you won't regret buying from these guys.

I'll start by saying this could have easily been a 1 star review had my new ice house not shown up on time and had they not taken such good care of me in the end. I bought a new Ice Castle at the St. Cloud sportsman's show and was expecting to get it in about 2-3 weeks. That didn't happen and there were some issues with communication between the manufacturer, the dealer, and me. In the end, my Ice house came in right before my planned family ice fishing trip and my sales guy Joe Erickson made sure it would be cleaned up, tanks filled, batteries charged and ready for the trip. It showed up the wrong color as well which is not the end of the world but the sales manager Randy did not bat an eye to work something out with me so that I left happy. In the end if you are looking for a friendly staff willing to go a step above to get you what you need I would recommend them.

We bought a new cyclone in 2015and every time we needed warranty work on it we had to fight with them to fix it. Last spring we found a crack on one of the outside walls of the slide out that’s is under warranty. They said we would get a new panel for it but it has been a year and they keep putting us off. Now they just want to bondo it now. We were told that it would be fixed multiple times but we still have a crack. Don’t recommend them for anything unless you like a headache and fighting to get something done

We bought a brand new (Custom ordered) 2016 Ice Castle RV edition from Outlet Recreation in October of 2015. We have used the fish house 6 times (4 times ice fishing and twice for camping). Every time we have used it, we have had to fix something before being able to take it out. This weekend we went fishing and the front cable of the winch snapped as they were cranking it up, thankfully no one was hurt when the fish house dropped to the ground (This was my breaking point that lead me to write a review). List of problems: fridge doesn't stay in place even with the screws, continuous to fall out- tried replacing the screws, still doesn't stay; microwave door wouldn't open, had to remove the cedar edging and block under microwave in order to open and shut it; had to re-glue the plastic countertop edging; exterior porch light never worked, tried replacing bulb, still didn't work, so we had to replace the outside unit; first time camping, we unrolled the awning, big dent in the main horizontal frame; had to replace 4 of the 6 hole covers due to cracking of base at screws; LP leak under sink (went fishing up to Red Lake and had to sleep in a parking lot overnight to wait for a gas company to open to fix it); and exterior running lights are always giving us problems (either the brake lights will work while the running lights don't or vice versa). I called and spoke to a salesman and a guy in the service department at Outlet Recreation and the response I got was, "Well you should have brought it in while it was under warranty. Now what do you want me to do? Yeah, the cable can snap, but that is why Ice Castle now makes it with a different cable. It's just like buying a car, you have your NORMAL maintenance." For a brand new fish house I am very disappointed. I don't believe this is NORMAL maintenance when the fish house is not even 3 years old. And I bought a brand new fish house, so I could avoid all these problems, but I guess not. I will not be buying another Ice Castle nor recommending anyone else too. I don't have time to be bringing the fish house in for every repair, not to mention it would cost me more in gas to bring it in rather than just fixing it. It's been nothing, but a headache since buying this. Why buy brand new when it comes with the same problems as a used one?
