Park Avenue Audio

I was working with Andrew Lorberbaum and he's the only person in NYC that I encountered that was a pleasure to work with. I visited many of the high end audio stores and everyone tries to push you into more and more expensive gear. Andrew takes the time to listen, understand what types of music you will be listening to and makes recommendations on what will sound best for what you are looking for. He's agnostic to if you want to spend $500 or $50,000. He spent a significant amount of time working with me and went as far as letting me hear each cable to see if it made a difference. We went from one mid range cable to a high end cable an both agreed the mid sounded better for the setup I was looking for, and he looked at me and said hey you just saved $1,000.00. Not only does he not push you into spending more money than you want to, he will flat out tell you if something is not a good value. I wouldn't bother going to any other audio shop in NY, you'll waste your time, go here and speak with Andrew.

After my high end but old Classe CD player broke (and I released it wasn’t worth fixing) I had an epiphany that it was time to bring my audiophile life into the online digital age. I did some research on my own and then I called Park Avenue Audio and got Andrew on the phone. He took his time, listened to my needs, was extremely knowledgeable, and then explained what the options were and seemed to have a genuine passion for the products. Most importantly, he didn’t push me at all and actually steered me to equipment that wasn’t the most expensive by a long shot but which best suited my current setup and what I was after- which included a hi rez streamer and a phenomenal DAC that performs way better than products at much higher prices. Needless to say I’m thrilled with my new gear (truly amazing) and had a great experience at Park Avenue Audio. Highly recommended!

Great place and location, but not the best staff... Also, does not stock up at store. Very hard to find the items I was looking to hear and test

Lately ,I have visited and purchased a Marrantz receiver there. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable, Mr.Andrew was extremely helpful to me,deciding which receiver most feet my need and good for the residence. Next time, you looking to upgrade your system, check out this place...
