Family member was here for about a week. A few days in I was invited to a family meeting. The therapist told my mother to stop focusing on finding a place to go when she was discharged and to focus on the group therapy sessions. He assured both of us that follow up care and a safe place for her to discharge to would be handled by staff. I provided them with the name of a place that could take her and was assured they would handle it.
A few days later I was told she would be "transferred" to Tessa, a battered-women's shelter. Odd but I trusted them. Also that Tessa was aware she was coming and would keep her temporarily and help her find a permanent solution.
Well then I get a frantic phone call. She was dumped there and Tessa won't take her or help her. And she's in the lobby with all her belongings and has to leave. She's disabled and has a fractured hip and can't carry her belongings so she starts crying and saying she's getting on a city bus and "goodbye forever". I called Peak View back to find out why they did this and the nurse was very very rude. I was told they do not do a neuro-psych exam inpatient. When asked what that means and why she's telling me that she responded by telling me "we don't help family members take people's lives away. She's an adult so stop worrying about it" no answer for any of the lies they told us.
So now my ill family member is who knows where and were back to square one.

When a family member needed critical care, Peak View helped so much. Great staff--all were very kind and caring. Lots of staff shift changes so you need to be patient with patient information taking some time to get from therpaist to doctor, etc., but overall really good care. Facility is clean and comfortable.

If you’re only seeking to talk to someone, a therapist, not the place to go. They’ll force treatment they feel fit, quickly suggest medicines even if it’s not a want, write information in your file that has nothing to do with you and what’s going on. Felt like a catch 22 when we just came in asking to speak to someone. Nothing’s consistent honestly, doctors speaking with each other. Very bad experience that was ignored. Reported everything to the Patient Advocate for nothing to be done. I know nothing can happen overnight per say but there are no actions that were shown on anyone’s part to help the situation we were in. Then on discharge information in our documentation is still wrong then tries to tell us one of the medications they discontinue when we leave, for anxiety, so why start the patient on it?

I was there for like almost a week and they where good to me for most of the time. The last night I was there they said that I could not have an ice pack for my shoulder that has been hurting me for a long time. They also lost my clothes that I had.

I have stayed in several hospitals like this and this is one of the better ones. However, if you try to get a hold of someone in billing good luck. I have called four times without a call back. Every time you leave a message with a different person and they NEVER call back. I don’t know how they expect someone to pay their bill if they can’t get a hold of someone to set up a payment plan. The hospital is good for what it is but the billing department is very very unprofessional
