Peg Leg Porker BBQ

Awesome atmosphere. Great people. Good beer. We had the ribs, pork sandwich, and wings. The ribs and wings were delicious, tender, and well-smoked. But, that damn pulled pork sandwich was AWESOME. It might just be the best pulled pork I've ever had in a restaurant. The bark all mixed in was killer. Great flavor and texture. For me, about double the amount of coleslaw and some vinegar BBQ sauce and it would have been the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. The sides almost stole the whole show. I'm not sure how they packed so much flavor into those smoked green beans but, DAMN. They are a flavor bomb. I'm not usually over the moon about Mac and Cheese but theirs is some of the best. Perfect amount of cheese and creaminess. We were scrapping the bottom of the cup. The only thing that I was not 100% on was the heavy application of dry rub, after cooking, on the ribs and wings. Don't get me wrong, the flavor was great, but dry rubs/seasonings tend to absorb a lot of moisture and I felt like it dried out the meat a little as you ate it, and gave it a mildly gritty texture. I was also afraid to breathe while eating it for fear of inhaling the dry seasonings. (If you've ever done it before, you know what I mean and you don't ever want to duplicate the experience). But, It didn't stop us from plowing through the meal! Overall, it was a great experience and I can see why they have won so many awards. Highly recommended stop if you're in Nashville.

Best barbecue in town!!! I usually get the sandwich with the two sides, baked beans/fries. Everything is always piping hot, served expeditiously, and it has a cool vibe. I’ve been 3 times so far and have not been disappointed. There is limited parking on the side of the building and meters out front, that are free after 6. IF you have visitors that LOVE BBQ, you have to share this place with them! They’ll thank you, forever!

Parking is very limited when it gets busy, which is always because the food is so good. We had to wait over an hour just to place our order. Once placing the order the food is ready quickly, within a few minutes. The food is excellent, however the wait is a killer if you’re hungry.

It is almost as good as their reputation says. He desperately needs parking. That is the worst part of this meal. I am not a dry rub fan, but this was perfection. The sauce could not match the flavor of the ribs. Great but not fantastic. (eye rolling good) still five stars for the ribs. UPDATE Just had my third meal there. After having ribs around the country, this is one of the top two places around. Even the sides were great. The Mac n cheese and the beans are great. Still five stars

Best pork sandwich I’ve ever had! Loved this place. Will be back. Such a cool atmosphere, helpful & friendly staff. Phenomenal food.
