I'm going to experience this hospital for the first time with my son. I will comment on the visit and rate it in a few days. I've gone through and read all the reviews. I hope most of the issues have been addressed as of April 2018. Very interesting experiences written..good and bad, but mostly bad. **Recent 2 visits went well..don't have any problems to report. I am just thankful and grateful these services are available.

I would give one star, except the doctor who ended up seeing us was great. The staff is awful. I took my youngest. They denied seeing her before and claimed I couldn't prove decendancy. This time, I brought what they said I needed. They turned me down again! I have been seen here and received awful service for 20 years. I only was here because my work decided to wait to have my insurance kick in. Every person we talked to, in the STAR clinic, records, and benefits are obviously cold people and didn't care a 3 year old was miserable. The only people who acted like they cared was in the ER and they and the pharmacy had us on the way in no time. We were there for 2 hours just trying to talk to people and how ridiculous they were being. When I don't think they can go lower, they know how to stoop further.
The lady with the drawn in eyebrows at the Star clinic was particularly rude. She was probably the one who answered the phone when I called beforehand and didn't answer my question, but stated "we just opened."

Everyone complains about the wait time and bad customer service. I have been going here for as long as I can remember. If you are nice and patient with them they will be nice and patient with you. That is how human interactions work. I'm very thankful for the work they do especially for those who don't have the money to seek primary care on a regular basis. No matter how many times you go expect a wait. They are busy treating other people like you and deserve the benefit of the doubt. Often times they have an estimated time in the clinic and that helps wonders. I do like the improvements they have been making of late. Please please keep it up!

I was born at this hospital and have been seen here by wonderful doctors and nurses for my whole life, and have only started having these issues with the hospital for the past 3 1/2 years. I scheduled an appointment with the women’s clinic a month and a half ago. At the time I scheduled the appointment I asked which trailer the women’s clinic was and was told it was the one right next to the dental one. Come to the day of my appointment, the women’s clinic trailer is not right next to the dental one. So I called the womens clinic 6 times to ask for directions, the same number I called to schedule my appointment, and got no answer. So I called the mainline and asked them to transfer me to the women’s clinic hoping they would transfer me to a desk phone or something other than an automated message, but it was the same one. So I call the mainline again and ask if they can transfer me to the women’s clinic and I called the number that the automated message says to call if you would like to speak with someone and still no answer. I call that same number 3 more times before I gave up. So now I’m 15 minutes late because I can’t find the trailer that the women’s clinic is in so I walk into the ER wait in line to ask, only to be told “It’s back behind the hospital next to dental.” So I walked over to primary care to ask because I don’t trust that answer and she tells me it’s right next to the main hospital on the left side of the ER. So when I finally get to the women’s clinic, I’m 20 minutes late. The woman at the desk was very polite and asked me to sit down while she tried to find the nurse that my appointment was scheduled with. I sat and waited for another 15 minutes only to be told that I can be seen but only if they have a no show. They can’t tell me when, but they can call to let me know. I work 2 jobs today so that doesn’t work for me. So I told her I would call to reschedule, but I would rather go into debt getting medical care at a different hospital than come back here. The misinformed staff, no one answering phones, no one knowing phone numbers or where different clinics are located and the way making appointments is set up are the reasons why I haven’t seen my primary care doctor or been to the dentist in a few years. It’s impossible to make an appointment for anything, and even more impossible to get correct information from staff. I have always loved this hospital, but now I feel like the only reason to come here is the star clinic but even they can’t do much to help you.

There needs to be a better way to setup an appointment for dental. Calling every Monday to try to get an appointment is crazy. This is my third Monday and I can't get through. I don't understand why they can't schedule you or put you on a waiting list. Calling 87 times to try to get scheduled for a check up is just not right.
