My experience with this office has been absolutely horrible. I was a patient here for many years. Due to a misunderstanding with records, I was accused of withholding information and received a certified letter in the mail stating that my relationship as a patient with Pleasant Run was being terminated.
Without getting into personal details, I have a number of different health issues and I am certain that this was the real reason that Pleasant Run did not want to have to put in the effort to treat me anymore and decided to use the reason that I deliberately withheld information as the excuse to terminate their relationship with me as a patient. After going to see a specialist that I payed out of pocket to see and Pleasant Run did not refer me to, the records from that office were never sent to Pleasant Run, even though I had asked that office to send them and provided them with the information to do so.
As a result of this misunderstanding, I received the certified letter in the mail without any explanation. After speaking with others that work in the medical field and even a lawyer, Pleasant Run does have the right to do this, although it is rarely done. I called the office to get an explanation as to why I was receiving this letter and was shocked when I heard the reason, especially after being a patient for so many years.
I received the letter from physicians assistant, David Bittone. (This practice only has one or two actual doctors since Dr. James Barr only comes in about once a month, is basically nonexistent at the practice and should just retire already if he hasn’t at this point.) David Bittone is completely ignorant and thinks he is God’s gift to the world, despite being a physicians assistant and not an actual doctor. After speaking with David Bittone about the letter he sent, I was even more shocked since I had just been into the office for a follow up appointment a couple weeks prior and he had always been very down-to-earth and easy to speak with whenever I would come in. So, this change in attitude was especially confusing and actually disturbing to me, since he is a medical provider who is treating and prescribing medications to patients. Not something that should be taken lightly....
I asked David Bittone why he didn’t bring up any of these concerns with me at our follow-up appointment a couple weeks prior and I felt that I deserved a real in-depth explanation. After voicing my concerns with him and going back and forth, David Bittone said that because of my past history and current medical issues, he didn’t feel comfortable treating me anymore for liability reasons. I was completely floored by this, and again, he is completely within his right as a medical provider to do this, surprisingly. I definitely think this all speaks to his character as a medical provider and a person in general. Since Pleasant Run is a primary care provider, there are many other better options out there. Be it closer to town (Flemington), staff that will actually answer the phone when you call or knowledgeable and respectful physicians that provide quality medical care and knowledge, you will be able to find it at another practice other than Pleasant Run Family Physicians.
I wanted to share my experience with anyone that is considering on becoming a patient here or even existing patients that want to see how Pleasant Run treats other patients (or in my case, former patients).

The staff are helpful and trustworthy. They practice responsible medicine and only prescribe when necessary.

The only reason that we rate this site with one star is because the Doctor we have seen is excellent. However the administrative support is a disaster and needs suitable training on how to properly communicate with patients. Casey in particular needs to be consoled on her negative and arrogant attitude. She should not be permitted to converse with patients. Reply's such as "I can't promise you anything" and "We might get around to ordering your meds because we are busy" is not the way to treat patients in need of appointments and medications.
Be prepared to NEVER get an individual live on the phone with your first attempt to call for an appointment, medication, etc.. as you are required to leave messages and wait for a call back from the staff.
It is with deep regret after 30 + years with Pleasant Run Family Physicians that my family will never return and we have now switched to a new medical support team who are treating us with respect and professionalism.

Great DR's and great staff!! They see my elderly mother and myself. My mom sees Dr. Delevalle and she is wonderful, takes time to explain things, has great patience and is very knowledgeable. On an added note while visiting for an appointment for my mom Dr. Delevalle took the time to look into my ear for which I was having a problem with and had no appointment and they did Not change. I see the male Dr. He is wonderful also. The staff is accommodating and extremely helpful, informative and patient. I look forward to the new Skype type on call Dr. System that they are setting up. I cannot say enough about this practice, I am not one to leave reviews but they go over and above.
