I love this beach! The campgrounds are great! This is the second time I come here and I love it! They have many activities for the kids! The staff is amazing! The water is warm, not like ocean city, the waves are not that strong. I saw a lot of bad reviews about jelly fish, but I have not experienced that so far! The dog beach is really quiet and very nice!

Nice park overall. Clean and spacious camping areas located close to the water and near fishing, swiming, and your choice of pet-friendly or pet-free beaches, boat launch, and the old fort. This was my first visit to the park and I expected there to be more historical sites to explore... there was enough to make use of about an hour of the day. This park seems to be focused much more on recreational activities rather than historical / educational.

From the tip of the park we were able to watch the full moon rise in the east as the sun set in the west. The beaches provide a quiet place for hunting for shells and driftwood.

some interesting tidbits of Civil War history and ecology are noted at the park but there could be more written up for visitors to understand the depth of each subject.

Nice views and park is a little run down looking. Costs $5/ person. Lots of Mexicans.
