This place is beautiful. Waterfalls and small bridges. I took my 11 and 14 year old girls for a very relaxing and peaceful walk in the trails. We climbed and took turns holding he baby. Great for all ages. Definitely a great place for nature pictures. We will be going back with a picnic lunch. Parking was great. Don’t bring a stroller if you have a baby, bring a chest/back carrier.

The Mount Aventine house and the history of Chapman landing are fascinating, and the sweeping view of the potomac river offered from the back porch is breath taking... ideal spot for a picnic if the weather is good. However, the park does not have much in the way of walking trails, offering only a couple relatively brief paths down to the river. I was unable to determine whether or not the historic house was open to the public, though it appeared not to be. All in all, it made for a very interesting pit stop, but by no means took my whole day to visit.

Park is great. Lots of historical sections to check out with the family. But if you're like me, and you require pushing a stroller around, this isn't the right park for you. Unless you're willing to walk along the road (no sidewalk).
The entrance is EXTREMELY narrow. Two cars could barely fit along the two way roads. Some sections you had to drive outside the road to make the vehicles fit and it's dangerous because you're on the cliffside.
