Sandy Point State Park

This is a fun day trip for the family. It cost $10 per car a day. They have grills for cooking out, although people tend to get there early and take over the area for the entire day. So it may be better to bring a cooler with sandwiches to refuel. The park is big with trails and a beach. I wouldn’t recommend swimming in the water. See the Chesapeake water reviews/grades for more info there. Although the kids can still build sandcastles. The have food for sale (at a premium) and bathrooms (not too clean) but what can you really expect for a state park. All in all it’s a good day trip if you can’t make it to the ocean.

Amazing view point of Chesapeake Bay Bridge.. It give a feel of a beach. Beautiful place to go in summer with family and friends for a day out.. you can see lots of dear roaming here and there.. crossing roads,. Best Place for campaigning and barbecue near Annapolis. There are No Bins so you have to carry one. Large place for camping test.

This is a great park just east of the Bay bridge. It has a reasonably sized beach area. Also seems pretty popular with the local fishermen. We've enjoyed our time here both times we went and have this as one of our repeat parks.

Flew my drone there today 4/18/18. Called before hand to make sure their were no restrictions. Need to be registered (FAA) and follow the standard requirements. Park Ranger came over and made sure I had all the requirements and reminded me of what I can & cannot do then left me alone. Nice guy! Been wanting to get a good pic of the bay bridge etc.

I've been coming to Sandy point for 38 years and love this place. It's such an iconic beach, I love the Chesapeake Bay, I enjoy the scenery such as the breathtaking views of the water and wildlife, one can't help but admire the size, beauty and architecture of the Chesapeake Bay bridge. I love the fact that it's very close to home. Such a nice place to go relax on the beach or you can go for some fishing!
