I went to the park for the first time ever on Memorial Day weekend for a picnic with friends and the hubby. We were a bit wary when a park ranger walked up to us as we were setting up near the grills. I thought we might not be allowed to have alcohol as I had a cider in hand 0_o. Turns out the ranger was just dropping by to check if we had bug spray and a trash bag to keep our area clean ! 🤣 ! The first time I'd had customer service at a state park. It was great and well worth the $3 a head to get in. They had plenty of grills, a boat center to rent paddle boats and canoes, a nice playground for kids, and a lovely hiking trail around the lake. We will be back ! Of and it looks like somebody dropped off their pet rabbits.....

Beautiful State Park with well maintained trails. Blazes are well marked and the trail map online is accurate. 3.7 Mile Walk around the lake is beautiful, with mild gains in elevation and really nice scenery. Very few people were out while we were on the trail, passes two joggers and a dog walker. Parents: Nice place for a walk with kiddos. There are also 2 playgrounds that we saw and a disc golf course. EV drivers: No charging available.

Nice place to spend a day. It is accessible by public transport as well. You will find picnic tables, park with swing and slides for the kids, boating and fishing.

Visited the peony field. Well worth a look. Many varieties. Hiked around the lake-- lovely but make sure you pick up a map and have water with you.
