This is a beautiful place with a lot of history to it. I recently moved to this part of the country from Texas and visited this park for the first time. I am awed by the mountain scenery. The lakes and rivers add to the beauty of it all. The weather when I visited was a perfect, mild, spring day but I could imagine how different it would look in the middle of winter with snow blanketing all of those pine trees.
I have a mobility disability and I was able to access some of the park but not as much as I would have liked to.

Fresh air, lovely scenery, all kinds of trails and friendly people with their dogs you meet along the way. Driving is easy you just need to know where your going up there so you don't get confused being in these mountains. There are lots of side roads and road signs but up there you really need a compass if you don't know what to expect and never been in this kind of environment. The weather changes a lot too. Little Sunny and overcast but it still snowed on us.

Shasta Trinity National Forest is a place to be if you like outdoors with hidden streams and many hiking trails with camping sites. You will never run out of things to do and see. From hiking to swimming in fresh streams and lakes. Good for fishing and boating, beautiful sceneries of the lakes and Mt.Shasta , the Eddie's and Castle Crag.

The landscape is breathtaking there are plenty of places to pull off the road and take photographs or just enjoy the scenery. the weather was perfect. However the roads were treacherous, dark, filled with deer, and deer carcasses on the side of the road and very dangerous. I would definitely never suggest anybody driving those roads after dark at all!! Even an experience Mountain driver used to those conditions chooses not to drive those roads after dark , if they can keep from it!

Alpine view campground is a good spot for tents and trailers. Shady spots and just above the lake. Easy 2 minute walk to the Waters edge from any of the camp sites. B loop is closer to the water. I did not see any pull through spots, and some of the back in spots are short.
