Roads are in poor shape if they are open at all. Gates are everywhere. Even if you are just trying to get to trailhead to backpack. Access is controlled from Washington DC. Not Forest HQ in Eureka or even Forest Regional HQ in San Francisco. Still enjoy the Forrest as much as I can.

IT'S A VERY BIG AREA. LOTS OF PLACES TO GO PICNICKING, HIKING, SWIMMING & CAMPING. I BELIEVE THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. OF COURSE IF YOU PREFER; YOU CAN ALWAYS GO TO THE BIG CITY & HAVE FUN TOOOOO.

So Peaceful and beautiful. A must visit for any outdoorsman. The beautiful towering redwoods with their thick luxurious canopies create a unique ecoenviroment that is unmatched.

Beautiful hiking camping and fishing i grew up here in Salyer as a kid and its a beautiful place to call home! But friendly to tourists that wanna share the views just be respectful and remember to clean up after yourselves
