The adoption process was very quick and very affordable. I was pleasantly surprised that there were only a few cats there so I didn't have to cry over all the kitties who need homes. We brought home a sweet girl that was already spayed and chipped and ready to go.

Recently I rescued a litter of 5 feral kittens from the cold and rain in a canyon behind my house. Their eyes just opening, I took them into my home and nursed them back to health. After a week or so a friend convinced me the best option was to take the animals to a shelter where they can be cared for until they’re 8 weeks old and I can readopt. I planned on readopting the two boys, and we took them to the shelter where we checked them in, filled out paperwork and got their animal id numbers. We were instructed to call back in a few weeks to finalize the readoption. Calling today, i was immediately told by the first man on the phone that my “cats have already been given away” but he didn’t know details. The next woman informed me they have been transferred to an independent kitten rescue, but she can’t disclose their information to me. Finally, after being on hold, I get on the line with the “Lieutenant” Alicia. Alicia had no problem telling me not only are my cats gone, but at the shelter they have never had any policy for readopting animals when checked in under 8 weeks.... After they just explained this all to me weeks before. Then, she hung up on me. I caution you to take any animal to this place. It’s clear the employees lack sympathy and care for any emotion, human or animal. I thought the purpose of these places was to find good homes for animals, not be taking that chance away from them.

PLEASE DO NOT bring young kittens here!! I took 5 abandoned 3 week old kittens and they euthanized them ALL, saying they had upper respiratory infections! Really?? They were strong and fed hungrily when we found them and URI is basically a cold. When my kids were sick I helped them get well, I didn't kill them. These people are getting paid to kill precious babies. I would have kept them and nursed them to health had I known what they would do. Heartbroken💔🐱🐺

Definitely don't like the fact that these dogs are in kennels that can get cold throughout the cold season especially at night time. Some of the workers either have attitude or they just don't seem to care for the dogs at all. Other than that, they have a fairly large selection with the small dogs being separated on the very back. They also have cats, rabbits, and other farm animals. The cats and rabbits have their own separate shelters within the department.

Young woman at the front desk was a huge jerk. Was judging us for relinquishing our dog. Not sure how adoption is but service is the worst.
