The Junket European Café and Delicatessen

Lovely German family owned deli. Perfect spot to grab a quality well made sandwich. Glad this place is nearby work. Features a nice selection of imported European goods such as beer, wine, cheese, & snacks. They have specials at great deals. Friendly service.

We've been so curious about the Junket but only got to eat there today. We normally go to the El Cerrito Plaza after work and this place closes at 5pm. We jusy love this place. Great tasting freshly made sandwiches with a great selection of breads. My hubby found his blood tongue on a Dutch crunch roll sandwich really delicious. They also have friendly staff. There is a good sized selection of pastries and goodies from Europe. Oh and they have great German beers too!

Some people have a limited amount of time for lunch. I could get fast food, but why would I want to do that when I can get a deli sandwich. This is my point... Don't take my order like you are about to make it, and 25 minutes later when I ask whats going on.. you were making 5 sandwiches from a phone order. I was already here.. poor time management. I don't be going back there for a while.

Old fashioned deli with European goodies. Love the pastrami sandwich - always served with a pickle. My husband gets head cheese, blood sausage or tongue. You can't get those in every deli.

I always get a turkey sandwich on focaccia and it's always absolutely delicious. I also will sometimes get a dessert which is also very tasty. It's a family owned and operated business and part of why I love coming here is seeing the family. The service is excellent and they offer a great variety of European (mostly German) products.
