This place sucks.
This is not a real postal office.
I'm not recommend this place at all.
The don't even try to help you. Make you feel dumb if you don't know USPS rules.

The mature woman with the white hair is absolutely godawfully rude. And openly speaks negatively about customers after they leave. She seems bothered to have to help anyone. Perhaps customer service is not her area, time for a new job then. This post office needs to get with the times and get a visa machine. I hardly know anyone who carries cash anymore.

Gross. This isn't a USPS. It's a gift shop with a USPS contract (and a bad gift shop at that). I was called a liar in front of a group of customers, for saying I had just shipped out 20 pieces at $3.50 each at the Keizer USPS for first class domestic with tracking, because "that's not possible" and "it must have been 3/4 of an inch thick and mailed as a package"... I couldn't help but almost laugh in her face.
The woman told me I was wrong and it's not how it works and I had to pay $6.70 for priority, as 1-3 day first class can't get a tracking number without a signature required (lie). She tried to strong arm me into paying twice as much by either being uneducated or just a liar. She said a standard mailer can't be shipped first class with tracking, and made me pay the 60 cents for the mailer I filled out.
I stopped here hoping I could bang out a few last minute sales for the weekend. What a mistake it was even setting foot in that place. It's poorly lit, poorly organized, you pay for mailers that USPS gives you free... list goes on.
Easiest solution: When you arrive at the store, turn around, go down Silverton, take a right onto Hawthorne. You'll be going straight the whole way. Continue on the Hyacinth connector, which turns into Verda Lane. Go through the roundabout, continuing straight, until the road stops. In a few hundred feet take a left before the center divider into the complex and use the facility at 5454 River Road North. Takes maybe 12 minutes by bike.
You'll save on postage, not be lied to, and that facility is nice and clean and open, not surrounded by drug addicts and vagrants like the Salem Lancaster Gift Shop / Post Office. They won't purposefully rip you off, either.
Absolutely disgusted. I knew I should've just gone back to Keizer, but wow, what an ugly place with ugly and mean people. Sad.
The mailer she forced me to buy ("otherwise it's theft for leaving it"), was sent out of Keizer for $3.50 domestic first class with tracking no signature. I hope others can learn from my mistake of ever setting foot in here. I wonder how many people a day just throw away money there.
I'll be filing a complaint with BBB and the Postmaster General for their business practices. If enough people complain, their contract won't be renewed, or they'll have to actually follow standard business practices.
If you've had a problem here before, you can send a detailed letter to the address below. The USPS takes claims of all nature very seriously. The way this place operates is tantamount to theft by deception.

I do not recommend this place at all. I've had so many problems and they always lose your packages. It's just so stressful and yes the ladies are not very nice and sometimes not very helpful either.

Can't take debit or credit cards. They have an atm if you would like to pay an additional fee . The name on the sign is post office then it should operate like a post office .
