Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC

This is a great company, I agree the rates are a little higher, but they are here when you need them. I requested a meter check and they were here the next day with printouts from service consumed. They suggested it might be my furnace and it was. Without their advice I could have continued using excessive energy. They have also been very prompt to cut trees that pose potential problems. We are at this time I am very satisfied. Customer service efficient and cordial. Thank you Bloomfield remc.

We do budget billing to avoid those high bills during their so-called "peak usage" times. Basically they charge more for electricity in the winter and summer, those times when you need it or you'll die. Anyway we pay more each year on the budget plan and still have to pay over $800 (3x our normal bill) in May to "catch up" for the year. If they are no better at planning a budget for a small home I'd hate to think about what shape their company's books are in currently . That being said, the linemen that come and fix the problems are great. A transformer went out on a holiday weekend and they where there within a few hours. It's just hard to understand why we are paying some of the highest energy bills in the state.

Anyone reading this review be aware that these people are no more than thugs. Mafia type criminals. they suck your power using smart meters blame you for the usage. this place is full of crooked stupid Hillbillies that will do absolutely nothing to help you get your "usage" under control they will not even call you back regarding energy audits, all they will tell you if your electric bill is higher than you think it should be is to turn down your heat. Anyone thinking about moving to an area that this place supplies think again go somewhere where Duke Energy is your provider. Don't deal with stupid ignorant rednecks!

The rates are ridiculously high and the company obviously doesn't care about the thousands of member complaints it receives.

$34 a month just for the meter.... It's 3x the price as duke and there's nothing I can do.... i live alone and only heat 2 rooms about 750 sqft, my last bill was $349.
