Duke shut the power off at an investment home i own. They have multiple properties that i own and pay them monthly for, in a timely manner. The shut off property was registered with them a few months ago and they were told to bill our corporate office, as ALL of our other properties are billed. The agent taking the order allowed connection, without deposit, because of our "Good Standing" account practices. Same agent misapplied billing address, which did not allow us notice of charges. That person must be the same person ordering a power shut off at this home? When calling Duke to determine the reason for disconnect, i was told it was because of non payment. I asked how the charges could be paid if i have no bill? Duke rep. corrected the bill to address, but said i must pay the bill before power is restored! I asked; since it was Dukes error!! Why did they did not call me - they had my phone number. They said they can't call their customers! But they would not charge me for a reconnect fee, since they error-ed. I asked them to check if - All My Accounts Are Paid in a Timely Manner. Of course that was too difficult (The reps and supervisors) have no skills of discernment! They can't call, even if you have been a responsible customer, but they can spend $100.00 to $150.00 service call to shout you off. This little tirade will result in little value or change because Duke has the same values many in gov't have - Get what we need - too bad for the consumer!!

This company is out of control they double debited my checking account and then make you wait 10 days to get your money back

Horrible company. I bought a house which had an easment for "constructing, maintaining, and operating a transmission line". Anyone who has half a brain could clearly see that they never maintained the line, neglected it for several decades, and decided barely a year after I have lived here to replace the whole line. They definitely are not finished and I have not seen them in months. They left ruts in my yard that started a mosquito infestation in addition to killing two of my mature trees the previous owner planted solely because they were in the easment. One posed no threat to the lines, the other maybe. They also left some giant wood skids in my yard...

A Yugo is more reliable than Duke energy. Their website, their automated phone operators, their billing services. They're no good at all. It's so bad they should be paying me to use their service. I can't login to their website and their human representatives are only available until 7PM Eastern time. Absolutely useless.

Lost power during thunderstorm. Very prompt in getting power restored.
