Unfortunately whilst on holiday I got ill in the evening and had to attend the emergency department at Mediclinic which was sorted for us by the hotels night manager and luckily was only 2 minutes drive from the hotel. On arrival just as I was waiting for my wife to fill in the paperwork I was taken straight into the side ward and within minutes was hooked up to monitors and bloods been taken etc. I cannot praise the staff enough they were very thorough and very caring . After an hour and an half all was sorted and not serious. Due to rushing out we hadn’t taken any money to pay so they were happy enough for us to return in the morning and settle up . Thank you all at Mediclinic on duty Monday night 5th December
We had an emergency with my son 6 who cut his foot and went to the Mediclinic. Was surprised to have to fill out my personal details three times on the admissions form before being able to see a doctor. We had previously been to a Mediclinic in Cape Town and I thought that the personal information would be available from that visit ID no. /address/ employer etc. Once we saw the doctor she was amazing and sorted everything out. Needed to come back for a follow up the next day and I had to go through the full admissions form procedure process again. Due to triage ratings from life threatening to less severe, the follow up is deemed less severe and we had to wait for everyone else on the day to be seen first before us, and then only could we see a doctor. There needs to be an easier way to get admitted/ seen by a doctor without all this paperwork filling out a paper form with an ink pen. We are on Discovery Health and between the medical aid and the hospital, Mediclinic, they should have all our details on record. Surely, with all the latest technology available today this process can be streamlined to offer the patient a seamless admissions process. Appreciate the work the doctors did and the pressure they are under and we are extremely grateful for there service.
Shocking. Carpets through the wards are absolutely filthy. Private room; open the cupboard and the door fell off onto my elderly father. Every single nurse from the moment we entered the building was on their cellphone. Every single nurse? Wheeling a medication trolley, on her cellphone. Assisting an elderly lady, on her cellphone. Every single nurse I saw was on her cellphone. Absolutely unacceptable. At the reception of B ward, the phones were ringing and ringing, TWELVE nurses were standing, chatting, on their cellphones ignoring the incoming calls, ignoring the buzzers. Absolutely SHOCKING.
The reception and service of the nurse on duty are excellent. I am proud that South Africans medical staff treat patients with care and professionalism. Well done, Mediclinic Hermanus...
THE Worst experience I have ever experienced at a hospital. With an exception of 2 nurses And the smell in the rooms... I Will be sending my detailed reviews to them personally as soon as I am feeling better.
Went to ER with a broken arm. Waited 2 hous to be sent to x-rays. Then I was bandaged up by a private Dr no cast and sent home. For that I was charged R989 just for the dr. The hospital bill came later - R727. After this I had to go to another Dr at consulting rooms to have a propper cast put on. More money. Should have gone there in the first place. Astounding what you people charge for hardly any service. Shameful!
The service on second floor in hospital has gone down not as it was. Should be stricter control on nurses. Food is very good.
Definitely some of the best nurses ever.... Under the circumstances. Some of the nurse even shared the families greef.
We have had the most amazing experience with all the staff, doctors and nurses. Couldn't have asked for a better experience to bring our little girl into the world.
The staff at the Mediclinic saved our bacon this morning when my husband had a severe allergic reaction. Nurse Du Plesis & Dr Cloete were kind, reassuring and very professional. A warm welcome at 6am in the morning after a night of ill health! Staff at reception were also clear & helpful. Thank you for the great service!
