Reception is terrible at the emergency rooms. I was there for treatment on 24 May 2023. I had to pay 2 separate accounts, 1 for the doctor, and 1 for the hospital. I have requested them to email the full invoice to me, as the amount submitted to my medical aid was different to the account I paid. I am yet to receive the full invoice specifying the details of my visit. I have written 3 emails to them. This is terrible customer service. What good is it to have an email address for queries but no one answers the emails??? EDIT: After getting them to reply after this review, it seems they added to my account, as I paid immediately following my visit to the ER, however 1 month later after this review I received an account indicating that I still have funds outstanding, even after confirming with the receptionist that this is the full account, as I have been there before and the same thing occurred. Please make sure that you ask for a printout of your visit, together with all codes and charges showing in full.
Very unprofessional staff at the Emergency section!! All I wanted was for my 12year old son to be treated for pain. I called the hospital before hand, and when I got there I was asked in a very rude manner if I'm the person who called in?! The guy in reception really needs to learn how to work with patients & their families! U are the first point of CONTACT!! whether it's a family member or the person that needs care. I'm disgusted on how I was asked do I know how PAYMENT works at this hospital !!? Instead of asking me if its private or medical. We have discovery Medical aid,and we have been to the hospital a few times. People shouldn't be judged when they walk into this hospital, based on their skin colour or age! we pay for the service of a private hospital! The nurses and staff needs to do some kind of course in how to deal with patients and their families!!
From admission which took forever to battling to get someone to take him to ward in wheelchair for back op was terrible. NO WIFI and my husband had to beg for it. Finally got 10pm hours after operation. Was in high care and almost incompetent lot of nurses/sisters. Monitor machine was plugged in incorrect date on machine showed it hadn’t been serviced forever - got photo evidence Kept asking for food after op as he hadn’t eaten since previous night. Only got supper much later despite us asking for lunch to be kept. Nurse told him she’s writing a report on him for bad behavior. Also yanked up the sheet after asking if he has a catheter in. Husband said no but she still pulled up covers. She knew he didn’t as no bag was hanging from bed. Was never shown where the bell to call is and no water at bed. I had to go look for a glass VERY poor hospital. NO comparison to Mediclinic- this was the 5th operation in this year so we know what we talking about! Will never go there again or recommend! Poor port poor!!!
Hospital located within Paardevlei precinct in Somerset West close to Strand Beach. The hospital is quiet during non-visiting hours and there is also an emergency room.
Poor communication, please train your nursing staff to speak with family and patients. My father was able to speak walk and drive. He is now post OP unable to speak, walk, move l, swallow and we as a family are devastated l. He is now 4 weeks in the ICU.
Excellent nursing and cleaning staff and hospital BUT SOMETHING VERY VERY WRONG IN THE KITCHEN!!! FOOD ALWAYS COLD . AND NO EGGS, 01/04/2023 NO MILK, 02/04/2023 NO BACON 03/042023 AND NO SAUSAGE 03/04/23!!!! I VE ASK TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER, STILL WAITING
Disappointed. Took my husband to the hospital for an operation. I made plans to be there when he goes into theater and when he returns This is allowed at Mediclinic. The porter tells me at 6am that I cannot stay with him and that I should greet him at reception. He further advises that visiting hours is 3-4 pm. This is so disappointing for a private hospital, post covid. I now have to call reception to enquire on him or wait for him to call me when he wakes! If you have anxiety about operations and being with your loved one, then Busamed is a NO. Wish we knew this beforehand.
Worst Hospital ever, with conditions compared to that of a state hospital. Rather go to a Mediclinic. You will save time and money. You will also receive the treatment of that of a private hospital.
Reception lady was very unprofessional, and hasty to finish her shift. Doctor was very friendly and nice.
I absolutely love this hospital! My mom has been at the hospital twice and they treated her like royalty. The doctor phoned me after my mom's surgery to give me an update and to me that is the best service ever! You always have peace of mind, because you know that your loved ones is in very good hands.. Thank you to each and everyone. I would recommend this hospital to anyone and I do not want to take my mom any where else. If I ever need to go to the hospital myself, I would only want to go there!
