An amazing experience for an urban person. Not that difficult as table mountain hike. Expect so spend at least 2hrs on the way up and 1 hr back. Can be very windy so better take a wind coat. Views are unrealistically magnificent Restrooms: Free style if you know what I mean Public Transportation: It was quite challenging to get an u we on the way back.
Absolutely stunning hike with epic views of Cape Town, Table Mountain and Camps Bay. Started 1hr 30 before sunrise and that worked perfectly. A lovely walk with a fun scramble at the top, viewing options for people that aren’t able to make it all the way up too. Must do!
Great place to hike with unbelievable views of Cape Town and ocean. You could spend a lot of time hiking here. My leg was bothering me so I mostly enjoyed the view from below! And if you are going to hike, take a bottle of water, you may be hiking for a long time! Oish!
What a great hike. Definitely worth it if you are in Cape Town. We got their early around 6am, was dark but we brought head torches while others used there phones for the start. Also worth taking some water. Fees: No fees for the hike.
The hike is about 2.7 miles round trip, about 1,100 ft elevation gain with the steepest part at the last 100 ft, which is pretty much all scrambling. Three spots, if I remember correctly, use ladders and/or staples. One of them can be bypassed. There’s a sign at this point. We climbed the ladder and staples going up and used the bypass going down. Really fun hike if one doesn’t mind heights and steepness. Amazing views as the trail gains altitude. Having an app like AllTrails is handy but not required. Start early, get a decent workout and still have the rest of the day to do stuff.
Not the easiest hike, make sure to wear comfortable shoes that have a proper grip and bring lots of water. The views are amazing
What more can I say about the most well known hike in Cape Town. Try the alternate route that starts from Kramat. If you cant go all the way up. The half loop is a great option. Start at the mosque and come down via the main path. It offers stunning views of Sea Point and Mouille point on one side and Camps bay and Atlantic road on the other. Do not go alone after dark. There are no toilets. So plan accordingly :P Fees: Free Restrooms: None
A must. I do it every time I’m in Cape Town. Beautiful 360° panoramic views: Robben Island, Devils Peak/Table Mountain, 12 Apostles, Camps Bay, Clifton, Seapoint, Greenpoint, City Bowl. Up and down doable in under 2 hours. Parking: Can get crowded but usually parking spots to be found. Fees: It’s free. No fees apply
My people I am back with a review of the Lions Head Hiking Trail. On a burn of 700 calories just by going all the way to the top and bottom, makes this experience way more beneficial than we would think! It took my family and I a good hour going up as we stopped many times to enjoy the view, fresh air and to take pictures. This estimated 2-3 hours was probably one of the most memorable time spent with my family as it took us motivating each other and pushing and pulling each other up the mountain. Things that family is supposed to do for one another. So therefore I recommend this activity for all types of families. Especially broken ones. You will see alot of friendly strangers wishing you luck up on your way to the top. All the motivation you could possibly need to accomplish the trail. The trail is challenging as it is steep, rocky and will challenge any sort of fear for heights. However it is not impossible. Many families carry infants on their bodies, many take their children and some even took their pets such as dogs and birds. This trail could be accomplished going up and down within an hour and a half by yourself. I definitely see myself challenging the trail on my own, for days when I feel under the weather as the feeling of success when you get to the top can manifest way more success and boost your confidence to tackle any challenge you may face in life. The mountain is clean and animal friendly. Please don't take any cigarettes or lighters or matches for safety reasons. Wear lots of sunscreen.
Very nice walk, it will take about a hour to reach the viewing point. Very nice to do when you reach the viewing point just before sunriseRecommended activitiesHiking
