Good. There are businesses inside the hospital. Including a laboratory.
Poor service at the admissions I’ve never so embarrassed like that the lady called Carmil talked to me like she was talking to a 1 year old I had a problem she didn’t even want to speak to a guy who was helping me from my medical aid she was shouting at me she disrespected me I had to call medical aid myself and that was not my job to do after all that she left me with the other lady and she didn’t even explain anything she didn’t even want me to talk to the Case manager when I wanted to talk to her. I don’t think she is no trained to be the front of the hospital everybody was looking at me I’m so angry I don’t think I’ll ever come here with my family ever again.
I must say I had a great experience at Isipingo Maternity Ward. Thanks to sister Nonku who attended me immediately when I was in labour. Your service was professional continue to do well at your job. I want to say hands off to sister Pamela what a sister. She is the best in the Ward she provided me and my husband a 5 star service during the delivery and after deliverying my son I love you sister Pamela I never stop talking about you. You made my delivery experience a best one at the labour one.
If you can afford it, please go somewhere else. Isipingo Hospital has gone down in service. The waiting times in the trauma centre are ungodly. The doctor was arrogant and incompetent and misdiagnosed my relative because he wanted to do the bare minimum. My relative had to make a scene for him to order more tests and find out what was wrong. After finding out my family member's diagnosis was more serious, instead of apologizing and admitting he was wrong, he turned to deflection and made a joke about my relative. This joke he shared with his nurses too. It took a long time for my family member to get a bed after testing and getting their covid but come to find out, most of the wards are empty. The nurses at level 3, especially the night shift, don't care for patients. They are loud at night when the patients are asleep. I'm leaving out a lot of information, malpractice included, but there is a lot wrong with this hospital. I urge you to go somewhere else.
Clean and tidy hospital with friendly staff.
The staff is so polite ,always helping with a smile
I would like to advice patients, sometimes is better to sort things on your own, i do remember last year when I'm in trauma department to change a bandages, the doctor who was in charge by that time, he took almost an hour, nurses asked him to come and review the burnt sore, that Dr doesn't respond, I told them that now I will show him that I'm not a full, then I open doctors room and I shouted him, by that time he was busy jolling in his phone, he tried to be fussy, and i didn't go until he dropped that rubbish call. We go together and he did his job..... Nurses were so happy that tells me that Dr is rude and he think is better than the nurses, which is not true, because we need to work hand in hand....... And I told him that JHB is my home, you are new in this hospital, so you can't treat me badly, I'm an old patient since 2004, who are you and where do come from....... I taught him a lesson That Msuthu Guy. Now he knows the patients.
My father was admitted to hospital on 2nd April 2021 at 9am and passed away on 4th April at 7am. The hospital took a high amount of cash deposit from us when we admitted him to cover the costs. When we asked about the costs they told us that the overnight stay costs R3,000 per night in the normal ward and around R10,000 in ICU. We asked them for a price list which they failed to provide. When they gave us the final bill they calculated the costs as 2.5 days even though my father was admitted for less than 2 days. Furthermore, the invoice had much higher amounts than what they quoted us initially. The hospital agreed to give us a small discount and have said they will refund the balance. However, several weeks have gone by and they have still not provided a refund. Firstly there was a lack of transparency in the prices and now they are delaying the refund for no reason whatsoever. It's difficult to have lost a loved one and then the hospital give us a difficult time with the money that they owe us as a refund as they take huge amount when you initially admit the patient.
