Today was my third time visiting, but my first time attempting to adopt. After the death of one of my guinea pigs, the other guinea pig was feeling depressed so I decided to look at this SPCA to find a new companion for my guinea pig. I found a 2 year old female (my guinea pig is also female), she was calm and and liked the attention. I went up to an employee, along with my sister, to inquire about adopting. We told her about how we were looking for a new companion for my guinea pig and was told that we can't get her to be a companion for my guinea pig and that guinea pigs don't like to live together. I informed her this was false information and that in the wild guinea pigs live in groups therefore need a companion, I was then told again I couldn't get the guinea pig as a companion because the guinea pigs will "shake their butts". I am being talked out of adopting a guinea pig because of butts. BUTTS!!! The act she was referring to is called "rumble strutting." It's a natural guinea pig behavior to show dominance, there's nothing odd about it and it doesn't "cause damage" like we were told. I am very angry and upset about this. All I wanted was this adorable little guinea pig, but I was denied her all because of false information given by their so called "exotics vet." If you look up on Google about whether or not guinea pigs should live in pairs or more, 99% of the results will say yes. This "vet" has less knowledge then me and I have never been though bet school in my life.

Awesome place lots of cats needing good homes. Adoption is easy and falling in love with the animals is easy.
