Front desk ladies don't seem to caring. My daughter collected from others and spent her own birthday money on buying food to donate. We went in and put the donations on the cart. They stopped talking to each other just enough to say Thank You real quick and then continued. I explained where this donation came from and they didn't seem to care. You would just think that maybe they would go out of their way a little to see the 11 year old who did this and say a few more words is all.

Some one picked up our cat and took him to the SPCA. They took very good care of him. Thanks for your help! We are so happy he is home safe!

Adopt don't shop! I love rescuing out pets from here. I also take donations to help the animals they rescue. They have a cute little shop in the front that is items donated that they sell for whatever donation amount you see fit giving.

This shelter was really nice. It's set up so you don't see the animals when you walk in. The front is clean and has a nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and they clearly have the animals' best interests at heart.

We had cared for a great puppy looked like a cavalier King Charles, that was possibly abused, neglected and/or abandoned, at the time we didnt know his situation when we saw him (we named him Austin). We tried to find an owner no luck we considered a rehoming after 3 weeks of no luck. He was a scared dog, he was mounting everything too, them on top after the 3rd week with my family he was crying and biting at the base of his tail. This little guy would not let me or my fiance look although we had developed trust so I knew he was in pain. I had my fiance hold him tight as I muzzled him and I took a flashlight and was able to briefly look and saw green puss under the fur. We took him to an emergency vet. (Limerick Animal Hospital) they had same issue with aggression so they muzzled him I didn't know if any shots were ever given (I doubt this dig ever had shots, seen a vet, or was cared for period after I got the entire diagnosis) they said he had some sort of injury or bite that was never tended to and had abscessed broke then bacteria stated to eat at the tissue and skin and the infection brewed for 4 to 5 months prior!! Poor Austin, he suffered his whole life probably! The vet said he was under 1 maybe about 9 or 12 months old, no chip and asked if we intended to keep him. We couldn't we have a senior mini pin who's a rescue with severe anxieties, and a one year old Maltese who's very needy and extremely hyper and in need of personal training. I asked them to treat the condition, and we would pay it was very bad, they had to shave him and remove alot of dead tissue and skin, more then all of us originally assumed. He needed another 10 days of home treatment with meds. They didn't have to ask I took him home and continued to treat him and I was getting very bonded to Austin which was not very good, with the issues with my other dogs have and lack of training Austin and my Maltese Laddie have it was a great interference. I decided after the 10 days of meds and a week to heal properly, it was best to take him to SPCA. At this point we have had Austin in our home for almost 2 months. The Perkiomenville SPCA was good to us, but I was also fearful of placing him in a shelter and with him not being trained being scared he would be slightly aggressive to new people. They told me straight up that they couldn't get him calm enough to even give shots he tried biting anyone who was near him! They asked me if they couldn't get him calmed, socialized, and adoptable in 6 days would we be in position to take him back otherwise they may have to put him down!!! I knew I couldn't take him and be the best owner for him because if the other dogs we have, and I couldn't give him one on one attention and training but I'd never allow for euthanasia at such a young age!! So I said yes. The SPCA took him and I was scared to call on the 7th day so I waited one more day then called. I'm happy to report the SPCA got the staff to work with Austin slowly and he was given all shots, neutered, and was ready to be placed for adoption. The day after he was placed online for adoption he was adopted.!!!😍 now he's in a home where he can be the sole focus... thank you Mont Co. SPCA!!
