HUMANE SOCIETY OF BERKS COUNTY, READING – LINDY SCHOLAR CENTER

Went recently to check if a found (deceased) cat was my feral. Honestly I had not had a good opinion of them before but hadn't been in a while. I was pleasantly surprised, it was clean and the staff was polite and professional. We went back to check the body and I was clearly upset, so the lady helping us asked if I would like her to check if the ear was tipped, that way if it was tipped I could check for other marks to identify, but if not I wouldn't have to see the cat who had died. Thankfully it was not my cat, but they were so respectful and considerate. I wish I had gotten her name, but I truly appreciate her thoughtfulness. I would definitely go here to adopt in the future 😊

Seven weeks ago, I had been taking care of a cat for my landlady over 5 yrs. due to my landlady passing and my moving, Bell had a broken hip, don't know if she was hit? The compassionate staff and Drs had to amputate the left hind leg and is now in foster care adjusting. I love this cat and was totally devastated in having to relinguish her due to my move? All I wanted was Bell to walk again and not to be euthanized. My experience with the Humane Society is very positive. Hoping she can be adopted.

I have been a volunteer at the Humane Society of PA. and I see the great Love and care the animals are given. The staff and volunteers give all the animals until the forever home is found.

Wonderful caring staff and the animals are all very well looked after while they are there. They staff even calls to check on the animals after you get them and make sure you have vet appointments set up for them.

Everyone that works here is a saint. They continually try to better Reading and hello you match with an animal you'll love. I've gotten a cat from here who's been my companion since he came home. They have Spanish speaking staff (Rocío), who is by and large the hardest working and most caring individual that I've met.
