Carolina Beach Family Campground

My family decided on a last minute camping trip to the beach. I called in the morning to make a reservation. When we arrived the attendant was very sweet and informative. We were able to pick our site from the ones still available. Our site was very shaded and the ground clear. Everyone we ran into was happy to offer assistance and super nice! The bathrooms are aged but for an outdoor facility pretty clean. Not full of bugs and trash. As far as camping goes it was great. I felt safe there with my kids. Only about 6 minute drive to the beach and very close to stores. Will visit again.

Do not stay here. Water smells like sulfur. Campground run down. Pool doesn’t work. “Playground” old, decrepit and dangerous. Needs tons of renovations and it’d be a great spot, considering location. Research before finding a camping spot. I learned my lesson!

Beautiful wooded campground area! This has been a second home for us for the past 10 years. The owner and management are some of the nicest and friendliest people we have ever met. Our neighbors have become good friends. We feel truly blessed to be here.

I'm not sure where the last reviewer got that they offer free cable TV, I have stayed here twice and they don't..and they do not advertise that they do either. I also have not had any problems using the free WiFi during either stay. There are no run down trailers or "permanent" tent sites any more than the rest of the campgrounds across the country that I've stayed at. It is a (campground) and not the Hilton Hotel. I stayed three nights and had a great time, the pool was open so I got my swimming in !

During a stressful wait for our new home to be finished, this place was a welcome relief. The bathrooms are clean but older. The water is well water. But electric, water and Wi-Fi makes every site comfortable. The staff and long term campers are very nice and helpful. I have recommended this for several of our friends.
