Chauncey Hotel & Conference Center

Facilities we're adequate. There are two key aspects of my stay that we're disappointing. First, the hotel smells and feels like a musty old building. It didn't seem unclean, but it was simply off-putting. Second, I had room with a king bed - a king murphy bed. I did not intend to spend my time essentially sleeping on the floor. It was less than ideal, and something that should be disclosed at booking. However, the staff was fantastic - some of the most polite and attentive I've experienced, even at much pricier hotels.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a wedding. Although the wedding reception was gorgeous and no issues there, our experience at the actual hotel was less than great. There was no obvious way to change the temperature in the room and it was freezing most of the time. We ordered room service one night and was told it would be 10-15 minutes. 45 minutes later, we called to check on the food and was told the room number was written down incorrectly. It was soon delivered and it was cold and stale and missing condiments and our dessert. When calling to check out in the morning, I was told “ok” and then hung up on. No “thank you for staying” or “how was your stay?”. Personally I feel like we paid way too much money to have this type of customer service and I’m glad my friends are now married because we will never be coming back.

We stay here frequently when visiting family in the area. The location is very nice if you don't want to stay on any main road/near a busy highway. Excellent place if you are handicapped and/or travel with a service dog as the rooms on the bottom floor open to the outside. Some of the rooms are a bit dated. We have had issues with the heating in rooms on several occasions, but staff is always quick to help. The staff is very helpful, friendly and quick to help. The main detractors center around their food service. The food is not so great, and, considering that the conference center is not all that close any restaurants, it would be nice if you knew that you could count on a good meal from room service.

Pleasantly surprised! Great place, friendly service and very clean. Nice views from downstairs and to take a walk by lake. The fireplace was great in the winter.

Really nice rooms, staff is great, food isn't bad and a pretty property with an indoor pool and gym and big pond outside with a nice paved trail for walking.
