This Hotel Is a major let down. I was really excited to have a nice vacation but right as I stepped in all I could smell was smoke all kinds of smoke. Very disappointed. The most disappointing part to the hotel was the food, I ordered room service and got FROZEN food that they had heated up. My stomach hurt really bad after. If I could give you one piece of advice don’t be lazy and just walk next door to Outback Steakhouse. I would not stay here again.

I would have given more stars if this "hotel" was more affordable. Clearly by the swamp-like lake adjacent to the parking lot, and the unfamiliar stench that clouded the entire hotel, 300 dollars is far too much for a one night stay even on a Saturday. The bar has only a very limited array of alcohol choices served by a bartender with mediocre knowledge of mixing drinks. The continental buffet makes an expensive stay alittle more appealing, however several key components were not available unless requested... Such as spoons.... Cheese as well would have been much appreciated to go with the tasteless scrambled egg patties, as they appeared. All in all one star is earned due to the overly priced stay at a "hotel" of this nature

Mouse droppings on the roll away bed
Electrical outlets don’t work
Rooms smell like smoke
They have no restaurant like advertised
They serve frozen pizza for $12 and mozzarella sticks with KETCHUP
After attempting to resolve issues with the owner prior to posting he informed me to do what I want, so stay at a hotel where the owner doesn’t care about the condition of the hotel, the cleanliness of the hotel, and most importantly the guests.
So please do yourself a favor and stay away.

The staff was wonderful but the hotel needs to change the carpets in the entire place it smells like they use to have all kinds of animals running through there. and get better breakfast change it each day not the same tired no season potatoes. Also make sure you check your heating system the sound we woke up to at 5am was not nice .

It’s my humble opinion that one of the top 3 least desirable things one may encounter while staying at any hotel is a shower that doesn’t drain. Room 220 at the Clarion Inn New London offered this very feature. As I stood there showering, ankle-deep in the in the brownish broth of ancient plumbing particulate and filth left behind by those who’d come before me, I took comfort in the knowledge that I could easily remedy this as soon as stepped out of the shower. For you see, the bathroom sink in Room 220 was roughly knee-high, and could very easily double as a foot-bath. Disproportionate indeed to the toilet, where the Clarion clearly spared no expense and fitted the bathroom with what must’ve been the budget hotel skyscraper model. No kidding, this was the first time in 30 years that at full squat my feet barely touched the ground. The stairwells at the Clarion fell thick with the odor of marijuana smoke, and were littered with blunt wrappers and roaches. The common areas were in need of some upkeep. Corners of walls were crumbling drywall, with the exception of a few which were at one point spackled, but never repainted. The exterior facade was for the most part decently kept, except for a few areas that appeared to be under construction. The fitness room located next to the indoor pool was underwhelming. It consisted of a treadmill, a stationary bicycle, and a stair-master, which after the effort it took to navigate the labyrinth and multiple stairways required to find this room, seemed a bit redundant. We forwent the complimentary breakfast, so I can’t speak as to the quality of those offerings. The pros would be that the linens were very clean, as well as the room. The room itself, though quite small, was well put together and comfortable.
