Hilton Garden Inn Wallingford/Meriden

I have never stayed here so I don't know what the place looks like. I hear it's nice. My problem is that I was referred by my wedding venue to use this hotel and my grandmother/uncle who both live out of state are members so I decided to try to use it for a wedding block. I have called FIVE times and each time get transferred to a voicemail to leave a message. After never getting a call back, I emailed two different people and still never recieved a call back. Then I called and asked the front desk if I can talk to someone else and she said "well you need to understand he has a lot of weddings". You're joking right? You're job is customer service which requires you to CALL people. You would think it was brain surgery to call someone back. Clearly the staff need customer and efficiency training.

My wedding and stay was here and I couldn’t have left any happier. The staff was great and attentive. They made sure they aimed to please their guest. The catering department did a phenomenal job. Very clean,organized and attentive.

Fresh and welcoming. Nice open lobby area with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a small bar open til 10 pm. Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. The dinner menu is tame and some items lack flavor, however, the service was excellent. Our room was clean for the most part but my young children quickly discovered the floor had been insufficiently vacuumed, finding someone's advil left on the floor. We reserved a room for four individuals but only got sets of towels for three people. We were on a longer trip so I needed to use the laundry room. Coin op, $2 to wash, $2 to dry. Two washers, two dryers. The hotel keeps a small pantry where you can purchase snacks and laundry detergent, I was thrilled to find fragrance free detergent for the washing machine. Our clothes were still sopping wet after one dry cycle, so I had to go to the front desk to get more change for quarters. I tried to ask the receptionist about the dryer and she said, "I don't know, I've never used them," as if it were beneath her dignity. The pool and fitness center are small but rarely used so we enjoyed both during our stay.

Best hotel in the wallingford area that comes with a reasonable cost. Believe it to be one of, if not the newest hotels in the area as well. Updated and accommodating. Good for business trips, as you see many travelers there, Including myself. My company's corporate office is in north haven and we typically arrange all out of town visitors rooms here at the Garden Inn. Very clean atmosphere and ample parking. Breakfast is mostly the standard/simple but enjoyable and well arranged. Staff is pleasant, helpful, down to earth. Hope this helps anyone debating where to stay within the area!

Room was clean and check in/out procedures were fast and easy. Location was convenient and right off the highway, although there didn't seem to be much of anything around the area. A lot of amenities, although I didn't take advantage of the workout facilities, pool, or bar. Would stay again, although would maybe look for something closer to things in the city in the future.
