Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale

Do not stay here. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in quite a while. Someone must have been smoking in a room that had an adjacent vent to our bathroom. The room smelled of smoke and the scent in the bathroom was so strong it felt like I had inhaled the remnants of an ash tray. When we called downstairs they did change our room. But management never apologized and never came to evaluate the issue. Instead of sending a bell hop to move us to a new room they sent security. I don’t expect to stay at an Omni and have such an experience. The managers just don’t care about the property otherwise they should have physically come up to our room and apologized. Save your money and stay at The Study instead.

First class property. I was extremely pleased with the view from my room. There should be a place for your feet to rest when sitting in the chair in the room. Overall, could not have been more pleased. Staff very helpful and professional. Would definitely recommend and return.

Very friendly staff, clean and pleasant facilities. Why I only have 3 stars? Being an avid coffee drinker, I drank both of the "regular" coffee packs my first night, unfortunately they did not replenish those when the serviced the room.... (I know it's a petty thing, but it's something that I count towards a good stay at a hotel). The breakfast and dinner that we had were excellent, and the waitress and bartenders were awesome. They also served complimentary hot chocolate in the evenings in the lobby....

I took an extremely last minute trip to New Haven for a family emergency. I had no idea where I would be staying. After a Google search while sitting in a waiting room at Yale University Hospital, I decided on the Omni. Mainly due to the valet parking. I checked in with no reservation at 10:30 at night. EVERYONE, from the valet (who simply smiled and told me he would take care of it when I pulled in the wrong way) and doorman to the check in was easy, calming, and patient. They all made a very stressful time a little less stressful. The room was spotless, the bathroom beautiful, and the beds comfy. Thank you.

The hotel is located in a very central area of town - next to great restaurants frequented by Yale students. The rooms feel dated though and for a hotel of this class can be better maintained. It feels like the lobby and hallways are in a better shape than rooms.
