DON'T DO IT!!! I bought a car in September/October 2017. I have 4 children and said why I needed it. They placed me in a car that was on a factory recall FROM MARCH 2017 for defective engine failure. My car shut off with me traveling 70 mph with my kids in the car. We were stranded for 2.5 hours waiting on help. I have attached copies of the recall I called to try and ask why they sold it to me and no one has called me back. I even posted to my facebook about it because I initially thought it was my transmission. My coworker told me to look up recalls, or I would have never known. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY!!!! I am contacting the better business bureau as soon as I send this. If you value your life and the lives of your loved ones, DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!! Some people write bad reviews because they feel cheated later but knew the cost up front. They put my children's lives in danger and that is something I can NEVER forgive as a father. They are my world.

Needed to rent a car on short notice to go out of state for a funeral. I checked the reviews, and noticed that they weren't all that great, but the price I got online was better than anywhere else. Being that I'm kind of on a budget, I figured I'd give them a shot. I'm not all together sure why they had bad ratings, but my experience was fantastic. Very polite, friendly, and helpful. The car was a 2015 Chrysler 200, clean, ran well, and filling up the tank didn't eat my wallet. Overall the experience exceeded my expectations.

Recieved the car with missing floormats and the smell of weed smoke. I asked the checkout guy that reviews your reciept for another but he said id have to go through the process again and told me not to worry about it. I needed the car so I documented it with pics and video.
After returning it on a sunday afternoon the check-in counter was empty. Every other rental company had an employee or two helping customers. Dollar had an empty unlocked office. They had a sign saying write down the mileage, date and time and drop the agreement and keys at lockbox. No pens in the box so I had to go to hertz and borrow one. When I came back there were people looking through the unlocked office looking for pens or taking things, didnt bother to ask.
A day later they bill me a $300 smoking fee. They told me they will not take the video and pics as evidence. What a sorry company and employees. They probly charge the $300 to everybody to make up for revenue loss.
My employeer has over 3000 employees and I gaurantee you they will all not be using DOLLAR rental and they will all get a nice warning on my experience.

We had set up a rental with a different rental car agency and long story short we found out at the last minute we were unable to get the car due to incompetent employees providing false information. Dollar Rent A Car saved us and our trip and we are totally grateful. We would have had to cancel and lose money. They were literally just getting ready to close and they let us get a car at the last minute. Check out was smooth, easy, quick and the woman at the front desk was very friendly. There was no runaround at all. I definitely recommend.
