Nice quite State Park Campground. Steep tow in and out. Electricity at site, but no water (they have a dump and fill station). Lots of ticks, more than anywhere else we have been. Camp hosts were not very good. The place charges for firewood, tells you not to collect any, then takes any firewood left at the site when it is vacated. Pretty close to St. Louis though. Showers and bathrooms needed some serious attention and were only descent because several other campers made multiple complaints to the hosts.

Excellent State Park within the St. Louis Metro Area. There are multiple hiking trails of varied difficulty. Primitive and modern camping sites are available. The is a large group camping special use area available for large groups. We used it for a Cub Scout Pack campout and were very pleased. The shower house at the campground was clean and we'll maintained. The visitor center has a souvenir shop and a small museum.

One of the best state parks within easy driving distance of St. Louis. Babler is definitely up there for my top day-hikes if I don't have the time for a 10+ mile hike. Good for camping and other outdoor events, as well; check it out!

Trails and park are great. Downgraded because the campground doesn't feel like nature. Campground is clean but there's nothing much else to say for it. The woods were cleared and graded. parking pads went in. If you're looking for camping in a natural setting, go farther than Babbler.

Beautiful park. Ran to town and on the way back met these at the turn towards the campground. I know the picture is a bit dark but I always enjoy seeing them. Drive carefully, your in their livingroom!
