Went over Memorial Day weekend. The campsites were really nice. They did not specify in their email during reservation process that I needed to check in when I got there but the staff member that came around to tell me was nice about it. The equestrian trail is not a great hiking trail, nor would I consider it to be particularly good for horses. There were four decent sized trees that we had to climb over and one that we were unable to climb over and had to go off the path to get around. It was a good all day hike and decently pretty if seeing the same types of trees and not much else is up your alley.

I always photograph mushrooms and wildlife here. I love the lakes, walking paths and the trails are amazing. By far one of the top state parks anywhere. Very well maintained, (thanks to all the great workers who keep this park in top shape) 😀

I've been going there for 30 years and love how they have really made it so beautiful and relaxing. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful park so close by.

I went to St. Joe State Park to try out the off road area with my Jeep. The person at the front office was very friendly and polite and I was charged only $5 For a permit and admission for the off road area. The Off Road area itself is mostly sand but there are areas of mud and rocks. The area is huge and open! I wasn't able to explore all of it! There are trails that lead into wooded areas that are restricted to atvs only. Also you will need a safety flag put on your vehicle If you want to use the off road area. If you're an off road enthusiast beginner or advanced, I highly recommend coming here! I had a blast in my Jeep!
