Elephant & Castle

The experience I had while dining here was very mixed in it's nature. The service wasn't horrible but certainly left much to be desired, the atmosphere was alright and the decorum was favourable. The quality of the meal however was appalling. I had dined with 3 other guests. 2 of us ordered the, "Banger's & Mash," 1 ordered the, "Castle Club," and 1 ordered the, "Fish N' Chips." The sausages were dry and flavourless, the potatoes were hard and the gravy was vehemently runny. The Club had incredibly dry turkey, no form of condiment and 1 strip of bacon, plus the bread was stale. The Fish N' Chips were the only thing that surprised me. The chips were stale and chewy but the haddock was almost perfect. Crisp and flaky with a very tender middle. All of this certainly made the point in my mind to never attend again. For those visiting Chicago, I most definitely recommend finding other places to eat.

I really enjoyed my lunch here. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was absolutely fantastic. I loved the atmosphere too! The only thing caution I would give has to do with the building and not the restaurant itself. The bathroom is located in the basement. I believe there is an elevator, but I used the stairs. So it is a bit of a jaunt to get there. If you have a small bladder or a guest who's dam is about to break, you need to plan ahead!

This place has good food and a cute atmosphere. During the daytime in the week it’s pretty quiet and on the weekends it’s quite loud and busy. I recommend the fish and chips or the butter chicken poutine!

This place was fantastic! Great service and an overall great experience. Our server was super helpful with some their most popular dishes that were on their menu. We opted for the lamb tacos and a side of jalepeno mac and cheese. Great beer selections and an amazing place to watch a game.

I was so excited that they had a vegetarian menu. I was just so shocked that not a single menu item on it was vegan... everything has dairy and eggs in it. How is that possible?? Couldn't even make substitutions. Dad got the onion rings. I might as well have given him a few tablespoons of lard. I'm really just disappointed with the vegetarian menu.
