We had a very nice time, very nice walk but we forgot our mosquito spray but it was still very nice.

great trail, pretty views, but lots of up-and-down and twists and turns in the trail. We walk the longest loop and it takes a good 4 hours, and we're tired after. We are pretty experienced hikers and in relatively good shape.

Lacking running water, but does have picnic tables and toilets. Self pay is $8 per vehicle and $5 per trail user, which is a bit steep, most regular users will be better served to buy annual passesfor both in January. The trails are phenomenal; they wind through several different woodland, plains and marsh areas and you can connect to Muir trails if you have the time and stamina. I put 30 miles and 2100 feet of elevation on a mountain bike without doubling up and there are over 45 miles of bike trail. For hikers there are over 100 miles of trail in this system, they only have to share the Carlin and Muir trails with bikes.

Don Juan and I live it here. When the weather gets nice we always stop for a dip at Lake Ottawa.

Nice trail but a lot of bikers (we were hiking) which meant we had to constantly step aside to let them pass.
