Greyhound: Bus Station

We dropped off a young female exchange student for a 10:20pm bus. The Liberty City station was closed and a homeless man was outside. It did not feel safe at all. My husband got out and knocked on the door of the station which was closed. A man opened the door so he went inside and checked on the bus status. He said the room was full of cigarette smoke, junk, boxes, etc. There were even red high heel shoes on a table. So weird. Not like a bus station AT ALL. Go to the Longview station instead. ***NOTE: I have since heard that the station is now much better. Apparently it was new at the time we were there. I have not seen it for myself but trust the person who told me that it has improved.

The only star I'm giving this place is to the helpful man that works there. He was the ONLY ONE ABLE to give us an idea on when our bus was going to show up. Our 2pm bus on 3/10 didn't show up on time and after tracking it from Atlanta to Shreveport it just stopped moving in the Greyhound tracker. We called their corporate offices, spoke to a supervisor and NONE of these people had a clue on where or what time their buses will show up. The bus didn't end up showing up until 10pm...and they had the worse costumer service in Dallas!

Awful experience. You better be one of the first ones on the bus or you might not get a seat. My companion had to stand up all the way from Weatherford to Dallas because they always overbook. They have hundreds of complaints about this and it's been going on for years yet nothing changes. I'd figure something else out before I ever asked anyone I care about to have to ride one of their buses again. Bathrooms on the buses are beyond disgusting. Last but not least, the bus stations are always full of shady characters...not safe. We've only used them when desperate but after the last experience we'll never use them again...Do yourself a favor and find another safer, cleaner way to travel.

Trip scheduled at 8:35am. After one hour delay husband called the company( the office at Liberty City was off, nobody working there to give any information) and the attendant said the bus was running late. The bus tracker was showing 4 hours delay and saying the bus would arrive around 12:14pm. The bus never stopped by the bus station. Husband Called the company once again and the attendant 's excuse was: "for some reason, the driver didn't stop by Liberty City terminal" Hellooooooo?????? Disrespect to the customer
