Nice and spacious sites. The shower house could use some big remodeling though. Water runs for 10 seconds at as time and it is literally scalding hot. Beware! Fun to watch the barges, but that can get loud at night.

Great campground! I have camped here alot as a child and now as a adult. Sites are nice, trails are pretty, and like how quiet it is.

Do not stay here unless you are a very heavy sleeper. We had to leave late at night because we could not sleep through the extremely loud sounds from all the barges.

I visited here as 4 day vacation with my family recently. By far the restrooms were the biggest disappointment the park has control over. We arrived to find that the showers had no working hot water. The other restroom facility in the park are not in good condition. Dirty and falling down. You'll also need to be prepared for constant barge traffic and noise from barges on the Illinois river as well as the trains that are constantly moving through. While the campground management obviously has no control over this it is worth mentioning. If your considering camping in the area I would consider looking at other options before booking a site at this park.

I am a local, so a bit prejudice ! I love this place. There a great trails on both sides of the bridge. You can go all the way to the locks and back (5 miles) or take a smaller hike. Just remember to stop at C P s Ice cream to reward yourself !
