Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lillington

Our stay was crazy. First night there was great, but the next day we came back to the elevator not working. We had a person in a wheel chair and another with cerebral palsy. I am a big lady, and had to run the stairs to get all our stuff from the third floor down to our room on the first floor. It was horrible. Also, our room we paid for was a smoking room, but they did not have one on the bottom floor. So they put us in a room that was next to the pool for easy access outside. It was a bad situation, but they tried their best to make sure we were accommodated.

This hotel provided a decent one-night stay, given the price. The rooms were clean and well kept. Breakfast was quaint but still provided more than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. There were only two issues I had; one, there was absolutely no hot water for a shower (I could not stand directly under the stream it was so cold, which was also experienced by my friend who was staying in another room) and two, as I was roomed next to the stairwell, I heard other guests running up and down the stairs at all hours of the night. I understand the staff has no control over the other guests, but be aware that due to the reasonable price, you may have inconsiderate younger guests as I experienced. I never used the pool or Wifi so I cannot talk on behalf of that.

The exterior of the building is very presentable and appears fairly new except for the road leading into the parking lot. The staff was nice and courteous every time our paths crossed. The room was really nice and clean. Although the service was great, having disruptive neighbors and random loud noises throughout the night made it difficult to rest peacefully.

Near Campbell University, this hotel offers free breakfast and convenience. It also offers smoking rooms, something that brought back unpleasant memories of business trips in the 1980’s. Although the room window opened, there was no screen, so we had to choose between bugs and smell. We stayed for two nights as part of a group and the room was not cleaned or restocked during our stay.

Beds were comfortable and clean, and the room was well furnished. Shower was large and a hair dryer was included in the bathroom. The provided breakfast was filling and had a wide variety of options to choose from. Overall, a welcoming and pleasant experience.
