Super 8 by Wyndham Raleigh Downtown South

This room did NOT look like the online photos they show. Dirty mattress on sofa bed, with trash in the sofa, and no bedding supplied for it. Pretty sink but no soap dish or toilet paper holder. Cracks in ceiling and walls. Shower curtain rod, vent, and switch plate all crooked and loose. Dirt in corners of room and behind fridge. Thin walls. Very noisy. I felt the only good things were the fridge and microwave in the room, and free waffles for breakfast.

If it wasn't for owners son (Ohm), this place wouldn't get any stars. 1st room was dirty, no bathroom exhaust, you wouldn't want to touch anything. Girls in bed after long day of travel. I took shower but the water doesn't drain out of tub. Ohm tried to fix with plunger but no luck. Gave me key to another room (other side of building), to use for when girls get up in morning. Changed rooms in the AM, much better but light doesn't work above sink. Two different people at front desk seem like they couldn't care and blamed things on other employees. We will pay more for a room somewhere else next time. Owner has 2 hotels side by side and nobody to change a lightbulb! Pathetic staff besides best efforts by owners son. Oh yeah almost forgot the hotel guests from one room panhandling us for money 2 days in a row. Hotel staff was told. Oh well. Place sucked.

Won't be coming back. Had mold in the bathroom, tissue holder was coming out of the wall. Drunks all three nights on our side of the hotel, multiple condom wrappers outside... definitely not a family friendly hotel. I gave them 2 stars because it seems they're trying. Beds are updated, ceiling was new... but overall it was still a depressing experience.

The service is decent but the hotel interior is rather gloomy. Facilities like microwave, and refrigerator are comforting but The interior needs betterment.

Rooms are good. Two televisions. Clean bathrooms and comfortable beds. The surroundings are clean. There is a gas station and grocery store nearby so everything is within reach. Downtown is 5 minutes drive on a straight highway.
