Motel 6 Rocky Mount

Spend the few extra bucks and stay somewhere else. No fridge or microwave in rooms. Air conditioner doesn't work...if you ask the front desk about it, really no offer to switch rooms, because "all the rooms are like that". Saw a mother and daughter that just came back from the store carrying an armload of stuff...and a fan! They actually had to go buy a fan because it was so hot in their room. Was told the ice machine on the first floor was broke....turns out, so was the one on the 3rd floor. You actually have to go to the front desk so whoever is working can scoop you some ice by hand, out of a cooler behind the counter. This place is RUN DOWN. You can clearly tell the owners take absolutely no pride in their business. I know that Motel 6 is supposed to be a no frills motel, but they could try just a little harder. I guess if your looking for a cheap place to party, then your all good. For a family getaway, I would suggest you pay a few more dollars and stay somewhere better. Tom Bodett would, or should be ashamed that his name is on any hotel in the condition that this one is in.

We appreciated the unique design of the room and loved the accent wall and no carpet. The staff was friendly and efficient. It was extremely reasonably priced and clean. The hallways were dingy and depressing with water stained rugs, etc. There were fellow motel guests who played very loud music all night. Overall, great value and was pleasantly surprised with the interior design of the room. Very basic but nice attention to detail in the room.

Minus the stained carpet in the hallways, my stay was pretty decent. The room was renovated and clean which provided me with some much needed comfort. The main problem I had was the stomping and thumping upstairs. It sounded like they were going to come through the floor. Also there’s no microwave or fridge in the room which was a real bummer.

The ice machine on the first floor didn't work, had to go to 3rd fl. The hall carpeting was in terrible shape, torn, dirty, stained. No coffee pot. AC was very dirty/stained was afraid to turn it on. Internet was very sketchy, tv stations were very fuzzy and difficult to see. I have stay at Motel 6 a number of times and was always please with condition. Not this time.

Phone in room did not work. The wires were hanging out of the wall. I was unable to call the front desk and had to walk back down. Internet speed was as slow as the old dial up speed. It was very frustrating to use as you just waited and waited. The room and bed were clean. The bathroom sink was spotted and had not been wiped well.
