I arrived much before closing time but LAZY desk lady said “closed!!” I told her just dropping off the samples but she didn’t want to open the door. Even my dr’s office called her for me but she didn’t want to help me. I could hear TV and all her noises through the thin door though she really didn’t want to help me. Wish only human hearted person was working these kind of medical related place.
Jackie is the perfect person for me. I am not good with blood tests and she made it easy and so comfortable. I won't go any where else!!!! Thank You, Jackie
The staff in this lab is extremely pleasant and professional. I've never had to wait, and the results have always been accurate. If you'd rather wait for half an hour or more in another lab, by all means, go elsewhere. Yes, it's in a basement, which is apparently too much for the fragile sensibilities of some clients. Personally, I'm delighted that this branch is still open.
Completely traumatizing experience. First time going to biorefence labs. The lady who took my blood was so rude and rough. Her name is Yvonne. I donate blood every year and get my labs done every year.. I know the drill when it comes to labs. First she was rude and very unwelcoming she's also the receptionst. I asked her a question pertaining to my order from my doctors, I told her I didn't need my STD panel because I had just done it at my OBGYN the day before. So she gave me a pen and told me to cross it out. She said "here's a pen and you can cross it out yourself." I then told her I don't know what is what on the list medical terminology and she said I don't know either. I didn't feel alarmed then because she was the receptionist so I didn't expect her to know. Then after waiting, she says okay let's go. I was actually concerned she was going to be taking my blood. I go to the room, I push up my sleeve up and she ties the blue elastic ribbon around my arm very tightly. Immediately after tying the elastic around my arm she did not give me a minute or two to get the blood flowing. She just went straight to it! I told her I'm sorry, but it's too tight and it's very painful. She just ignored me and continued withdrawing my blood. I felt her finger against my vein pushing and then again I told her that the ribbon was too tight and she said it's the only way. She kept pushing down on my vein for blood to come out. I have never had someone push on my vein for blood to come out. Awful.
They let my blood tubes sit too long apparently before processing and the samples had degraded too much for some very expensive tests to yield results. I've had to go back in to have new blood drawn. When I complained that my insurance company shouldn't have to pay to have those expensive tests run because of their mistakes they were very dismissive and gave me no assistance in getting the charges reversed for the previous attempt at a test. The location is in a dark very unattractive basement and the space doesn't look clean.
Let me start off by saying the staff here was great. The technician was extremely friendly, efficient, and the procedure went smoothly. But, ok now... you should avoid this branch of BioReference at all costs. This lab is in the basement of the building, it's run down, and the lobby of the lab itself is water-stained and looks like it hasn't been renovated since the early 1970's. The actual room where they take the specimens is clean and fine, but the overall vibe is dingy and rather gross. There are other branches in the city; go there instead.
I came in 30 minutes before closing time and the nurse was really nice, professional and answered all my questions. I was in and out in about 10 minutes.
Great building, but the windowless basement waiting room feels like a dungeon.
Been here twice, it is never busy and have had great experiences.
How do you contact this place!Tried calling before going and both numbers listed don't work, needs complete overhaul!!
