Perry-Juniata County Animal Rescue

Not sure what is going on here, seems like there is an issue with the staff, it's by appointment only. Drove out there and the place is off the beaten path with no signs, very hard to find. My application was rejected after waiting 2 weeks with no explanation. I'm sure they had their reasons but I would have liked to know what they were.

My husband and I got our sweet boy from Perry County Animal Rescue. Paula, the director, was very accommodating and generous with her time while we were meeting several different dogs at the rescue. She listened to what we were looking for in a pup and even suggested a few dogs that she thought could be a good match for us. She introduced us to each dog, told us all she knew about him/her, and then let us take the dog for a walk around the grounds to get to know him/her. They also have a resident cat on the grounds to "cat test" the dogs, which was important to us as we have a cat at home. The adoption fee was much more modest than some other rescue organizations in the area. They even included his next month's Advantix, along with the license and home again chip registration paperwork for use to fill out and mail in. The kennels and grounds were clean and the grounds were well maintained. Paula and her team definitely put in the labor of love and it shows. Thanks so much Perry County Animal Rescue!!

Adopted my dog Hannah here and I love her dearly. She is a mix, but has been to classes and has gotten her CGC and taken agility classes. I enjoy her so much we are now working on her therapy dog credentials.
