The hotel was absolutely wonderful. Our room was gorgeous. It was located on a corner and we had a wonderful view of DC that kept our 2 young children very occupied. The shower was incredibly nice and I felt like I was able to take a satisfying shower. There we're many options to choose from when dining out and the places we ate were delicious. This was also conveniently located a few blocks from the National Mall. We had a great stay

Absolutely loved the service. Polite and professional, quick, and super helpful. All the things you love from your front desk.
The hotel itself feels both modern and classic and the lobby was comfy and beautiful!
The room was nice, super comfortable, though our sheet and comforter were obviously dirty when we arrived. There was also sticky stuff all over the phone.
Was really disappointed to find out they had no rooftop bar because it was a factor in us choosing this hotel and the advertisement sates they had one.
Would have loved to have more info about the hotel and services in the room.

In April 2018, I stayed at the Renaissance Marriott in Washington DC four nights. The first night I was in a room facing a major street, and there was construction all night long. The construction noise was unbearably loud and even made the room vibrate. I was unable to sleep because of the noise. The hotel management was only able to offer me earplugs to help with the noise, but that did not work. I realize it’s not the hotels fault that there’s construction down the street, but they should have warned me of the noise and maybe should not even be renting out rooms during the time of this construction because the hotel is clearly not equipped with sound resistant windows and does not have the infrastructure to keep up with the noise. It’s a Marriott in downtown DC—the busiest neighborhood in DC—how do they not have sound proof windows and the proper infrastructure?
The saving grace was that the following day, a very nice manager named Savannah, upgraded me to a Junior suite on the other side of the hotel away from the noise. The rest of my stay was very nice and enjoyable. I no longer heard the construction, was able to sleep, and enjoyed my time there. Besides the major construction noise, the hotel has a lot of redeeming qualities. For example, the location is right in the heart of DC; it is near lots of great restaurants, night life, and easy access to the Metro. The gym is very nice! All the employees I encountered were very nice and helpful.

Nice clean hotel. Dorm fridge in the room is great and needed because who wants to pay $24 for a breakfast buffet.
Cons:
Bed is hard, pillows are extremely soft and thin. I travel all the time. No issues with most hotels. I found it very hard to get a good night sleep.

Great hotel! Right by Chinatown and within walking distance to the monuments and white house. So many amazing restaurants right there too. The hotel staff is great. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Definitely one of my favorite hotels in the city.
