West Wind Inn

While I understand that hotel policy dictates that you must cancel within a certain time frame, in this case a tropical storm is threatening the area. I did not feel safe to take my family under those weather conditions and in fact other hotels were waiving their policy (Sunset Beach Inn). To be clear, I was not looking to cancel, only to reschedule my visit by 1 week. Despite all that, West Wind Inn was completely unwilling to work with us and in fact were extremely rude. If their willing to lose a customer over a justifiably reasonable concern, then I am unwilling to ever entertain staying at this location. Vacationers beware!

Where do I begin? When my and I entered the room we were greeted by a damp and sour odor that lasted for the 4 nights that we were there. the furniture consisted of 3 mismatched lamps and heavy wooden pieces, scratched and careworn (circa 1970's) that looked as if they were purchased at a Salvation Army thrift store. There were no decorations that reminded us that we were in Florida, drab beige walls, no tropical colors of wall art, Florida flowers and/or tropical birds. All in all, the room was a big disappointment. The grounds were nothing special either. If the landscaping was done by a professional landscaper then the owner got ripped off. In our opinion, the property needs a MAJOR upgrade in order to be called a tropical resort that charges resort prices.

Lovely location. Rooms are Good size and clean but would like the beds to be a little bigger and maybe have air conditioning unit higher up the wall as it was 2ft from my head when sleeping. Reception staff are so helpful and couldn't be more friendly.

This is a very clean well run orginization. Food at the restaurant and pool side bar was very good. Two thumbs up to the bartender Kari as she had a very good pour. It is worth renting the chairs and umbrellas for the day. Thanks for a great vacation West Wind Inn.

Probably a great hotel but I called to book a room for tonight... and i asked the guy to hold on a sec so I could ask my mom if she had any other questions before we booked the room and he hung up on me!! He seemed like he hated his life as soon as he answered the phone. Super rude... so we booked somewhere else and when we return we definitely won’t try to book here again!
