We experienced our first safari at Madikwe and can't say enough about it. The staff was welcoming, the food was amazing and our guide was top notch. We are a family with 4 children ranging in age from 9-15 and they were amazingly attentive with children's activities, and always engaging them. We will 100% visit again, it was an amazing experience.
We had the most magical experience at Lelapa lodge and would return tomorrow if we could! The lodge itself is beautiful with every amenity you could wish for. The pool overlooking the watering hole was really special as was the gorgeous room with its private deck and plunge pool. Our guide was fantastic and every drive felt like we were exploring a new reserve. Our baby was extremely well cared for when we were on drives and all the staff made us feel like part of the family. I didn’t want to leave!
Easily one of the best experiences of my life! We loved the Madikwe safari lodge. We stayed in Dithaba- which only has 4 rooms. It was very intimate and peaceful - no children. There are 2 other areas; Lelaba is the biggest area with family rooms. I highly recommend Dithaba but I’m sure all are good. Our room was a hit with a plunge pool and separate sitting area and balcony. We had a huge bath. I am vegetarian and loved the food, it was healthy and very fresh. The alcohol selection is also great and service was excellent. The location in the park was great and we had the most phenomenal guide - Mitch made such an effort to make our game drives great. We saw 4 of the big 5 no leopard. But had phenomenal lion, cheetah and wild dog sightings. The lodge is quite intimate and we got along great with the other 4 people staying there. Everyone had a window seat in the truck, there were 6 of us in there daily. 2 drives a day included - summer is 530am and 430pm departures and winter 630am and 330am. It’s greener in summer but too hot and harder to see the animals so I recommend winter. I’m sure it’s great any time of year! I would love to come back!
What an incredible magical place! Everything was extraordinary- the rooms, the service, the food and of course, the animals - we saw all the Big Five. We had the most wonderful stay and we were so lucky to be looked after so well by Rebecca, our ranger Nick and the rest of the team. What an amazing place! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, it was just the best experience. Everything was taken care of and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was AMAZING we stayed in Dithaba, although we walked around to the other lodges and they were also lovely. The game drives were incredible, our guide Mike has so much knowledge and made it really interesting. The refreshment stops were also a really nice way to experience the game reserve. The staff at Madikwe are the nicest people and they work really hard to make your time there the best it can be - for every meal they set up a table in a different part of the lodge so we could experience new things and the food was exceptional. Hennie, Precious, Gladness and Veronica were amazing and so friendly. I could not recommend this place more highly, it's a once in a lifetime experience!

We had an amazing four day stay. All of our high expectations were exceeded and it was the trip of a lifetime. The staff were all fantastic, the game drives stunning, and the overall experience one we'll remember forever. Highly recommend and wish we were still there!Rooms: 5/5

My travel agent recommended this place as the perfect fit for my family of 5. Literally everyone we interacted with was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely focused on making our stay comfortable. We were never able to stump Mitchell with any question. He was so knowledgeable, and his passion and interest in animals was very evident. Joyce always welcomed us with a big smile and met our numerous requests for special drinks and menu substitutions, and even second portions of the incredibly delicious food! Amy never hesitated to help us out with logistics even letting us use the usb outlet in the office after we checked out. The housekeeping staff always kept our rooms tidy and organized. We especially loved the little touches such as the story cards, heating pads in the beds, and chalkboard to communicate. Olga, the masseuse, was very accommodating with our schedule, and even come at night since it was the only time that worked for us. This lodge truly put our comfort and enjoyment as their top priority. They welcomed us at the front with friendly waves each time we arrived back from a game drive. Food was very plentiful - and most importantly, so delicious! I don't think there was a need that wasn't met. Their watering hole had lots of animal visitors, and you can enjoy it sitting by the pool, or on their many lounge chairs that were available. Truly a gem of a lodge and I would highly recommend to anyone.
We had the absolute best time at the Madikwe Safari Lodge! The rooms/accommodations were luxurious and very comfortable, while also honoring the aesthetic of being in the bush. The food was great especially loved the fresh muffins every morning before the first game drive; the staff was extremely friendly and helpful; and the safari experience/games drives were AMAZING! Borain was our guide/tracker, and he was truly fantastic. Extremely professional, knowledgeable, talented, and personable. We had some amazing sightings, while also learning a tremendous amount and having a lot of fun. 10/10 recommend Madikwe Safari Lodge!
