I've come here too many times to count, and I've had a great experience nearly every time. The IMAX is great, and loadshedding does not cause much of a problem. The theaters are well-kept and clean, and the seats are comfy and in good condition. This is one of my favorite cinemas - and I've been to several across the globe, including in Japan and Spain.
This review is mostly for Gift. I believe he is the manager at the Cape Gate branch. He is always super friendly, helpful & polite whenever my husband & I encounter him at the cinema! He is an asset to the team & deserves the recognition. Keep it up Gift! I must also add that the rest of the staff there are also top notch. Great work!
We watched John Wick Chapter 4 in IMAX about a month back and it was amazing! Popcorn, snacks and drinks were great and seating was very comfortable. IMAX incredible picture quality and outrageous sound system was really something else. Clean cinema and friendly staff. 10/10. Highly recommend!
It borders on a poor cinema experience, but it's OK. We don't have any other cinema option anyway. Picture quality is poor and brightness is set too low. A lot of graining in the picture as well and blur is a problem. Sound is OK, but not the best. Price per ticket is too high. There is also no differentiation in cost per ticket for the smaller cinemas with smaller screens.

I visited the cinema today like I have several other times. Great place honestly. The only concern was the IMAX theatre. I’m not sure why the theatre was a quarter or even less than what it should have. Maybe it’s Covid regulations but seriously, the IMAX screen is practically nothing but similar to any screen when you’re sitting right at the back - which were the seats made available. This won’t cost you a star but something to think about - make the middle and front rows possible to book please. Otherwise good place.
Love the set up! So Efficient. Spice Packets work so much better than the shakers! No Lines really as you can book online and collect snacks at the counter.
Love it Love it Love Watch Avatar and our experience was next level. Amazing. You want to touch the sea animals, you will dive for safety when the bullets start flying. Highly recommend!
Very bad experience. Our imax moving started 55 minutes later than scheduled. All our pop corn and snacks was done before it started. Someone came to say the projector was faulty after we waiting 40 minutes. After paying so much for your ticket and having to pay a hours longer for parking the least they could do it give discount or give a free movie it would have cost them nothing. Disappointing as this was our first imax experience
A wonderful cinema with friendly, welcoming staff. Can't get that IMax experience just anywhere. Bathrooms relatively clean - accessibility toilet on premises.
