Avila / Pismo Beach KOA

It is a nice quaint campground. It does not offer much in the way of views, nor is it particularly beautiful on its own merits. However, the beauty lies in its location. A quick ride will get you to the best beaches, or to San Luis Obispo which offers much more non camping entertainment. It is nicely tucked away but not remote, giving you many options for your day and evening plans.

I rated this site a 3 due to my experiences. I enjoy staying here due to the well maintained park and location. I have had great experiences with a few employees who were more than helpful. One employee offered to lend me her own personal belonging to acccomidate my stay. On the down side I have had rude service over the phone with one individual who refers to himself as a manager by the name of Mark. I addressed my issues with Mark in person and counseled him on his awful rudeness and that he dictated my future business.

I have stayed at Avila KOA my every visit to Avila beach since last year. All of experiences here have been great except for this last stay. Every time I stay here the staff is very kind and helpful as well as very eager to make my stay pleasurable. This last time I stayed I had the awful pleasure of speaking with Mark, the manager who was very rude and spoke to me as if I was incompetent of the KOA check in as if I hadn’t stayed here plenty of times. The miscommunication was between himself and his “new” staff member as he referred to the staff. Other than Mark’s rudeness and lack of good customer service my stay has been good!

great place. Pet friendly, helpful, everyone was so friendly! Employees and guests aloke. Amenities were wonderful. Showers, laundry room, play room, playground, pool, hot tub. had a great stay!

We arrived 30 minutes early for check in. The manager was unbelievably rude. Yes, she had said check in was at 1pm, but 12:30pm is just slightly early and the campground was empty. Absolutely no one in the entire row we were going to be in. We spend months at a time in KOA campgrounds and never have we been treated so rudely. She lectured us about how no one wants to be told no these days. We cancelled our reservation on the spot and went to a much friendlier campground. We will never return to that campground at any point.
